Procedures and Strategies of Dealing with Non-finite Verbs

Wang Mengqi No.3 High School Teaching Aims: Make Ss master the procedures and strategies of dealing with non-finite verbs and try to use them in reading and writing Teaching Points: the steps and detailed methods of dealing with non-finite verbs 1.

Find conjunctions in sentences and distinguish predicates and non-finite verbs. 2.

Find logical subjects and judge the logical relationship between them. 3.

Analyze the time order between predicates and non-finite verbs and use appropriate form of non-finite verbs. Teaching Methods: Firstly, introduction, and deduction, then, analysis and summarizing . Thirdly ,, practice. Teaching Tools: Multi-media courseware and chalks Teaching Process: Step1 Lead-in Firstly, present some pictures of my son and introduce the 4 basic forms of non-finite verbs by changing my introduction into the sentences including non-finite verbs. 1.

To relax myself, I often open the album and enjoy my son’s pictures.

Appreciating these pictures makes me realize he has grown up. Secondly, introduce the importance of non-finite verbs in the College Entrance Examination by scanning a form as follows:

Step2 Explain the procedures of dealing with non-finite verbs by analyzing the past questions in the College Entrance Examination step by step Section 1: Firstly, help Ss work out the following questions by comparison and summarize the first step ---whether they can find the conjunction in sentences to distinguish predicates from non-finite verbs.

Section 2: Firstly, help Ss work out the following questions by explanation and summarize the second step---find out the logical subject of the needed non-finite verbs after finding its function in the sentence. 

Section 1 :Rule1 状语从句连词后直接连接动词的话，只需用其非谓语动词形式：主动关系用现在分词;被动关系用过去分词。但是在before和after这些介词后的非谓语动词：主动关系用动名词的主动形式（doing）；被动关系用动名词的被动形式（being done）。

Rule2 表事物性质形容词后的动词只用其不定式的主动形式。是不及物动词的话要加介词。
