(一)课标分析:本节课主要Christmas这个西方传统节日展开。根据课标中的要求,属于节假日的话题范围。在本节课中学生需要达成如下目标:了解并掌握关于Christmas的词汇,短语和句型并交流简单的节假日的信息。在教学活动中。能根据教师的指导,完成知识的学习,归纳和总结。能向家人和朋友描述圣诞节的相关知识。
(二)教材分析:本课是冀教版小学英语六年级上Unit4 Christmas一单元中的第一课,本单元重点学习西方国家中的重要节日Christmas的有关文化知识,以及节日中人们所做的事情。本课重点介绍圣诞节的一些相关知识和文化习俗,内容接近学生的生活,学生愿意了解这一重要节日,因此学习兴趣浓厚。本课是在四年级、五年级学习了一些节日的名称和中国传统节日名称的基础上,进一步学习和感受外国的节日和文化,让学生感受不同文化的差异,鼓励孩子乐于接触外国文化,让学生更加热爱生活。本课的目的在于培养学生独立阅读的习惯和发展阅读的基本技能,使学生通过阅读的途径来学习语言。
(三)学生分析:本课的教学对象是六年级学生,他们已掌握一些英语基础知识和基本的阅读技能,而且对英语语篇的学习兴趣较为浓厚,在四年级的时候也对节日有了一定的了解,如:Spring Festival, New Year‘s Day, International Workers’ Day, Children‘s Day, Teachers’
Day , National Day;在五年级的时候学生对中国的传统节日Spring Festival,Mid-autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival有了详细的学习和了解。学生在此基础上学习本课Christmas is
coming,更能让学生体会到中西方文化的差异。特别是对他们了解西方文化背景知识更感兴趣,因此学习本课既能丰富他们的学习经验,更能培养和提高他们今后语言交流中跨文化交际意识的能力。
(四)教学目标
知识与技能目标
1. 学生能听懂、会说、认读和拼写下列词汇
holiday, bring,give,song
2. 学生能认读、理解和运用下列句子:
Christmas is a Western holiday.
They bring gifts for us.
We sing Christmas songs. 情感态度目标
让学生在小组活动中与其他同学积极配合,合作,激发学生在阅读中体验快乐,体验成功,快乐阅读。鼓励孩子乐于接触外国文化,增强祖国意识。
学习策略目标
积极与他人合作,共同完成学习任务;积极运用所学英语进行表达和交流。培养学生独立阅读的习惯和发展阅读的基本技能。巧妙的问题串教学。在英语教学中正确运用问题串,不但能激活学生已有的知识储备和学习经验,系统整合新知和旧知,还能够加强培养学生用英语思维的能力,激发学生的求知欲。
文化意识目标
了解西方人过圣诞节的一些文化习俗以及相关的文化背景知识,体会中西方文化的差异。
(五)教学重难点
教学重点:了解圣诞节的文化和过圣诞节所需的物品。培养学生正确的阅读习惯,发展学生的阅读基本技能。通过阅读掌握圣诞节的相关语言知识。
教学难点:能够用英语向他人介绍圣诞节。

Spring Festival. T: Yes, we will have a holiday on Spring Festival. 师讲解holiday,强调holiday的发音,并举例winter holiday, summer holiday and Western holiday(幻灯片出示)
T: Do you go to school on Spring Festival? Do your mother and father go to work on Spring Festival? S: I don’t go to school. My father and mother don’t go to work. T: What do we do on Spring Festival? S: We clean our house. We buy new clothes. We make dumplings. We have a big family dinner. We get lucky money. We light fireworks. We have lanterns. We put up posters on the wall. T: What do we eat on Spring Festival? S: We eat dumplings. We eat meat and chicken. T: Good work. This is our Chinese holiday. Do you know holidays in western countries . May be in the U.S. and the U.K. You can say it in Chinese. S: Christmas , Halloween…. 【设计意图】从学生已有的语言知识和生活经验出发,围绕中国的传统节日春节展开交流,进而激活学生的背景知识,激发学生阅读文本的兴趣。

学生带着问题快速阅读,找出教师所提出的两个问题答案。
T: Here are two questions about Christmas,(出示问题,并领读)。Let’s read the text quickly and silently, then underline the answers. (1)
When is Christmas? (2)
Do people work on Christmas? Do children go to school on Christmas? S; Read and find the answers. T: Check the answers and write on the blackboard. 师根据黑板提示领同学们读句子。(Christmas is on December 25th. People don’t go to work, children don’t go to school.)
【设计意图】通过快速阅读初次接触文本,帮助学生大体了解圣诞这样一个传统的西方节日。并通过两个较为容易的问题的回答,培养学生快速阅读的能力,进而向学生渗透略读的策略。

Who is Santa? S: Read the text carefully and write the answers. T: Let the students show the answers. (找学生说逐个问题答案,教师边板书,并讲解课文中出现的词汇) S: Christmas is a western holiday. At Christmas we have Christmas trees, lights and Santa. T: Good work. Look, I have a picture for you. What is it? Is it beautiful? What’s on it? S: It’s a tree. It’s beautiful. There are many lights on the tree. T: This is a Christmas tree. (师领读Christmas tree) T: Look, there are many lights in our classroom. We can put the lights on the house. It’s beautiful. (出示房子的图片,并粘贴) T: What are these under the Christmas tree? S: They are gifts. T: Who brings gifts for us? S: Santa.
T: Look! Santa is coming. What is he wearing? S: He is wearing red clothes. T: We can say “He is in red clothes.”(幻灯片出示两个句子He is wearing red clothes. =He is in red clothes.领读) T: How does he feel? S: He feels happy. T: So we can say Santa is a merry man in red clothes. (幻灯片出示merry=happy)

S: He is a merry man in red clothes. 【设计意图】学生带着问题第二次阅读文本,通过寻找问题的答案,使学生更详尽地理解阅读内容,更深入地了解圣诞节,特别是结合图片和文本的上下文,帮助学生了解merry man, in red clothes等词汇和短语的含义,为学生的深层阅读扫清语言障碍。
3.The third Reading
学生借助图片阅读课文的第二大部分,然后回答教师的问题,学生回答所有的问题后,重点学习“bring, give, song”的用法。
T: On the Spring Festival, we celebrate it. How do we celebrate it? S: We light fireworks. We put up posters on the wall. We have a big family dinner. We have lucky money.
T: What do we do on the Spring Festival? S: We clean the house. We make dumplings. We buy new clothes.
T: Do you know “How do people celebrate the Christmas in Western countries?”Let’s read the text in groups and write down the answers. (幻灯片出示问题) S: Work in groups and find the answers. Show the answers. They invite our family and friends to our house.
They bring gifts for us.
They give our family and friends gifts, too. They say “Merry Christmas.”

There are many special songs, for example, if today is Li Ming’s birthday, we will sing “Happy birthday”. 【设计意图】学生通过再次阅读文本获得有关圣诞的感性认识,了解有关人们在圣诞中所做的事情,进而让学生进一步了解西方人过圣诞的习俗。如西方的人们在圣诞时唱的歌叫做圣歌,人们通常会去教堂唱圣歌,人们也会像我们过春节一样,互赠礼物,邀请亲朋。通过回答问题,帮助学生进一步归纳梳理有关圣诞的
知识,如What is Christmas? When is Christmas? What do they do at Christmas?为学生围绕Christmas进行口语表达做好铺垫。
4、Listen to the tape and read the text aloud and finish Part 2 T: We know many knowledge about Christmas. Here’s a little task on your book. Let’s read after the tape. Try to imitate the pronunciation and intonation. Then finish the task on your book. S: Read loudly. Finish the task. T: Check it. 【设计意图】通过播放录音,帮学生进一步梳理本课的知识脉络。通过跟读录音,帮助学生纠正读音,培养学生良好的语感。
Step 4 Post-reading : Talk about Christmas with your partner
让学生根据教师留在黑板上的语言知识的脉络提示,彼此谈论圣诞节。
T: Today is December 15th. Christmas is coming! I’m excited. Are you excited? S: Yes, we are. T: Don’t forget to say “Merry Christmas !”to your friends and family. T: I love Christmas. Do you? S: Yes, I do. T: Can you describe Christmas with your friends? Now try to talk about Christmas with your partner. If you need help, put up your hands. I’ll be a good helper.
【设计意图】:拓展环节将英语学习与学生实际相联系,从课堂内容延伸到学生的生活实际,学以致用,实现了交际性语言在实际情景中的应用。
