Unit 7 It’s the polite thing to do(Period1)

1.Knowledge and skill:

(1)Master the words and phrases of this section: manner, seat, polite, impolite, line, in line, loudly, public place, waste等。

(2)Know the meaning “It’s the polite thing to do”.

(3)When it comes to impolite or polite behavior, it can use “Please don’t…/We

shouldn't/We should..”. 2.Learning strategy:

Though the phrases/sentences study of this section, let the students know that they

have to do polite things.

教材分析

本册书为小学的最后一册书,全书由原本的12个units缩为10个units,内容起到承上启下的一个作用,链接小学英语的整个学习过程,着重培养学生运用英语的能力,主要板块为:故事、动物、名人、礼貌、旅游等的拓展学习,同时体现外语教学的跨文化学习特

学情分析

性。这一课时为模块4 Manners ----unit7第一课时的学习。

六年级的学生年龄大部分处于13—14岁间,这个阶段的儿童容易为一些新奇刺激的事物所吸引。思维、观察、创新能力集中于一身,但知识难度的加深,抽象的概念,如语法的讲解等也很难被其接受,因此,教学中教师需要通过词句的反复训练和感知来习得语言的综合运用能力。

1 一、Warm-up

1.Show learning target in PPT 2. Sing a song together:(Hello Hello) 3.Reveal the subject:

Module 4 Good manners Unit 7 It’s the polite thing to do

knowing the Chinese meaning of the title,(那是要做的有礼貌的事情),learn new word: manner. 4. Let students say what good manners they have done before.

二、Presentation Step1: Let pupils look at the pictures and ask them: Do you still remember these signs? What do they mean?(其中有些学生会讲出一些讲礼貌的事,就可以揭题)

Have pupils read the signs out, tell them: “These are polite things to do. These are good manners.”

What else, teacher can lead-in“This is also the polite thing to do.”

三、Practice Step2: Book page41 exercise 3 Look and say

(1) Have pupils look at the picture, teaching related phrases. (2)Repeat after the teacher, let Ss talk about what is polite, which is impolite.

(3) Look at the pictures, teacher gives an example to make sentences:

We should keep quiet at the library. Please don’t talk loudly in the public place.

(4)Exercise them in groups. (5)Have a spot check. (6) Sum-up:When it comes to impolite behavior, it can use “Please don’t…”.

(7)Writing on the blackboard:

We should ... We shouldn't.../Please don’t ...

Step3: Let’s play games

Game1: Quick response: Sharp eyes Game2: Invite two groups of six students to find the phrases card, the quick finder will be the winner. Step4: Book page40 exercise 2 Listen and number

(1) Ask the pupils look at the sentences and try to understand the meaning quickly. (2) Let’s listen. (3) Check the answer. 四、Sum-up: When it comes to impolite behavior, it can use“Please don’t”/We shouldn't. Also, “We should...”can be used to express some of the polite things we can do. 板书设计:

We should... keep quiet at the library./stand in line at the bus stop.... We shouldn’t ...talk loudly in the public place/waste water... Please don’t ...talk when others are talking
