3.Understand the text and know ways of finding out about Australia and interesting things in Australia.

4.Have a global vision and know some culture tips= of Australia.

1.Warm-up Talk

2.Brain Storm.

T: OK, I’ve already known some of you, you are very nice. Now we do a brain storm. (PPT) If you have a lot money, (money读得搞笑点) , what will you do?

S1: I will buy a house for me.

T1: Only for you. Could you buy a house for Mr Chen. (学生笑了)

S1: Of course.

S2: I will go travelling around the world.

T: That’s really kind of you. ( 面向全体学生) We should help poor people. Will you?

T: OK, I have already known your ideas and please guess what I will do?

(Students give different answers)

T: OK, I tell you I will help poor people just like that boy and go to different countries. Do you want to go to different countries. (ss say yes)

T: Good, but you have study English well now. You need English when travelling around the world.

3.Guessing Game

T: As for countries, let’s do a guessing game about the name of the country. Please look at the screen and try to guess the name of the country according to the pictures and sentences. Are you clear? (Ss respond yes)

(Teacher shows the right answer: Australia)

T: What do you know about Australia?

S: ….(3-4个学生反馈他们对澳洲的了解)

T: OK, I will tell you more about Australia. Look, this is the national flag of the UK. Do you know Australia is in the south of the earth or north?

Ss: South.

T: Good, you are so clever. That’s why that while it’s cold in China, it’s hot there. Now look at the national flag of Australia, which national flag also has a similar pattern?(指着澳洲国旗上跟英国国旗相同图片的部分)

S: The UK.

T: Do you know why? (学生们沉默,几乎没人会回答,这是老师做出自信的表情对学生说) Good, now I have the chance to tell you why. (出示文化知识PPT) Before 1931, Australia was part of the UK. And now the Queen of the UK is still the nominal head of Australia. (讲慢点,尽量让学生听懂) Have you got them?

Ss: Yes.

4. Text: introduction part.

T: OK, today Mike and his friends are talk about Australia. Do you why they are talking about Australia? Do they want to go travelling there?

S: No. They will learn about Australia.

T: How do you know?

S: From the text book.

T: Good, you have a good habit of learning. Now let’s listen to text and check his answer is right or wrong. Here are some listening tips.

T: You read it every well. Now everybody, if you want to know about Australia? What will you do?

S: I will surf the Internet.

T: Good, your way is very good, very fast. Now I will show you some pictures which may help you to answer this question.

S1: I will read books in the library about Australia.

T: Good girl. Do you often read books in the library?

S1: Yes, I do.

T: A good habit and any other different answers?

S2: I will watch TV about Australia.

T: Chinese TV program or English?

S2: Chinese.

T: I suggest you watching some English program about Australia if possible. That will be good for your English.

S3: I will ask teacher.

T: Good way and a lazy way. (学生笑) A joke. Asking teacher is a good way. Ok everybody, what about Mike and his friends? Do they have the same ways to find out about Australia?

Ss: Maybe.

T: OK, now let’s watch the clip and tell the answer. You can take some notes when watching the clip and try to focus on what they will do.
