Teaching Aims 1)

Knowledge aim: Children can talk even write down something about four seasons , using the vocabularies and the main sentence structures in this unit. 2)

Ability aim: Children can cooperate with each other in all the games, activities and performances. 3)

Emotion aim: Tell children to help with each other when they are learning. Stimulate them to love nature,

love life,

Teaching steps: Warm-up 1) Sing a song to relax: Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag.

T: How does the music sound? Ss: It sounds nice.

T: So in such a nice morning, with such nice music, Let’s play a nice game, OK?

Ss: OK. 2) Play a memory game ( brain storm) Ask Ss to read the flash words on the screen quickly, then say the words one by one. March-May, June-August, September-November, December-February

T: So many words here, what are they about? Ss: They are about seasons. T: How many seasons are there in a year? Ss: Four sesons. (Present the title on PPT and write the title on the board.) 2) --What’s No. 1 season? --Spring. Draw a simple picture of spring on the board.

Let children ask and answer, talk about spring, using the sentence structures in this unit. Show

the sentences on PPT one by one. Put the answer sentence cards on the board. At the same time, draw a mind map about spring and put the key words( cards) in the map. All the sentence structures: 1. --When is ______________ ?

3) --What’s No. 2 season? --Summer. Ask and answer with the same sentence structures, talk about summer. Also, draw a mind map about summer and put the key words( cards) on the map.

4) --What’s No. 3 and No. 4 season? –Autumn and winter. Present the two seasons on PPT. Ask children to choose a season and work in pairs. They need to ask and answer, talk about the season they choose, using the same sentence structures. Also they need to draw a similar mind map and write down the key words in the map. 5) Show time. Let some children to show their mind map before the class, to ask and answer with the sentence structures. 6) The teacher uses the key words in the mind map to describe spring first.

Spring lasts fom March to May. In spring, it’s warm. We wear shirts and trousers. Spring is green because plants grow. We can go for an outing and fly kites. I like spring. Then let some children talk about other seasons like this. 7) Talk about the festivals in four seasons simply. Then ask children to read a passage about festivals in four seasons and finish the exercises.

Festivals In Four seasons

There are many festivals in each season. Some are western festivals and some are Chinese traditional

festivals. We have Easter, Fool’s Day and Mother’s Day in spring. Normally Chinese Dragon Boat Festival is in summer. It’s on May 5th in Chinese lunar calendar. But this day is often in June in solar calendar(阳历). We also have Children’s Day, Father’s Day, Party’s Day(建党节) and Army Day(建军节) in summer. In autumn, Thanksgiving Day and Mid-autumn Festival are very interesting. But children like Halloween best because they can play trick-or-treat. Christmas and Spring Festival are important in winter. Families get together and have a big dinner. 1.

课后反思

本课是复习课。本单元三课均与seasons相关，我将本单元的词汇和句型相关知识进行了一个简单的梳理归纳，整理成如下几个类别：Time, Weather, Clothes, Colours and why, Activities, Festivals。

导入部分与以brain storm的方式分类快速呈现了与季节相关的各类词汇，比如时间，天气，衣服，颜色，活动等等。让孩子们复述这些单词，然后设问：What are the words about?让他们根据这些单词推想出今天的主题Four seasons。这个环节切实有效地激起了学生的学习兴趣，同时全面复习了本单元词汇，为后面的句型复习做好了铺垫，而且导入方式新颖、自然，效果非常好。然后以简笔画和思维导图的方式引导孩子们复习了spring和summer相关的句型和词汇。这一过程中的问与答几乎都由孩子们自己完成，充分体现了学生在教学中的主体性。接下来让孩子们进行双人练习，从autumn和winter两个季节中选出一个,用同样的方式问答，同时画出类似的简

笔画和思维导图，并且上台展示。思维导图的方式让本单元的知识点脉络更加清晰，也更方便记忆，单元知识得到了高效巩固。学生的能力也在多方面得到提高，比如口语能力，归纳能力，绘画技能，合作能力等。之后的阅读理解，既是对季节和节日的一个复习和拓展，也是对本单元知识的一个有效补充。而summary环节，用谚语“一年之计在于春”，来鼓励孩子们珍惜时间，做好当下，热爱生活，从而实现了本课的情感目标。最后的家庭作业，我让孩子们用My Favourite Season为题写一篇小作文，对本单元所有的句型和词汇进行进一步落实，达到了全面巩固知识的目的。
