Step Three Lead－in

Lead in by asking and answering questions.(Showing the students some pictures on the screen)

Teach the word “spell, please”.

1. Teach the usage of “a/an”

For example: a pen, a ruler…

an English song, an apple…

2. Teach imperative sentence. Spell it, please. 3. Discuss the different ways of asking for the spelling of words. eg：

Can you spell it，please? How do you spell it? Spell it，please. 4. Do some exercises. ★Step Five Learning [听力] 1. Listening (3a，3b，3c, 3d) (1)Listen and number the pictures[1－8]．

(2)Listen and complete the words under the pictures in 3a. (3)Check the answers with students by asking and answering questions like this：

T：Look at Picture 1.What's this in English? Ss：It's a key. T：Spell it，please. Ss：K－E－Y. (4)Listen to 3c and repeat. (5)Listen to the conversations of 3d and number the words you hear (1-4) 2．Pair work Make some conversations with your partner using the pictures in 3a. The teacher walks around the classroom to watch and help the students study while the students

It’s an orange. (2)Guess a word. What’s the word? Is it a/an …? Yes. It’s a jacket./ It’s an orange. (3)A passing game. Each team chooses a sentence. And the first student tell it to the next one. Pass it one by one. The last student tell the class the whole sentence.
