Leading-in T: Good morning, class. Today we’re going to learn Unit 4 Using Language, reading, discussing and writing. In this unit, we talk about learning efficiently. Actually, there’re three kinds of learners. If you know your learning style, you may find more efficient ways to learn English better. Step2. Reading 1.
T: Here’re three kinds of learners: Visual --- learn by seeing Auditory --- learn by hearing Tactile --- learn by using the sense of touch T: If you’re a visual learner, that means you learn by seeing. Auditory learners usually learn by hearing. If you’re a tactile learner, you prefer learning by using the sense of touch. 2. What kind of learner are you? Which statement resembles your situation? Statement 1: I would rather hear a book on a cassette than read it. (Auditory) Statement 2: I like playing sports more than watching them. (Tactile) Statement 3: I like reading stories more than listening to them. (Visual) Teacher shows the three statements to the students and asks them to judge what kind of learner they might be. T: Open your books and turn to Page36, and take this quiz to find out what kind of learner you are. Tick only the statements that you think resemble your situation. 3. The students take this quiz, and circle the numbers that match the statements they ticked. Then find out their preferred learning style. 4. The students read the descriptions of three kinds of learners on Page38 so that they can get more information about how they learn best.
Step3. Discussing 1. Join a group that has members in it with the same learning style as you. T: You have known your learning style. I’d like you to join the group where the students have the same learning style as you. Row1&2--- Visual Row3&4 --- Auditory Row5&6 --- Tactile 2. Discussion.
