本单元的Wonderland版块,学生要掌握的核心词汇是:Yu Garden, museum ,Chinese knot, silk, the oriental Pearl TV Tower, view, modern, maglev。在这些词汇中,只有tower是目前上海中小学英语课程标准要求掌握的核心词汇。tower曾在5A Unit10的FL板块中学习过,在本单元中要继续学习,其余都不是课程标准要求掌握的核心词汇,要求会识读,不要求会运用。此外,本单元出现的知识点:have a good view, have a bird’s-eye view of, leave…for…, along, buy…for sb对于我们班的学生来都是新的语言知识点,要通过语境、对话、问答等方式来理解并熟练运用。
本单元中的语篇主要围绕上海的旅游景点来展开,时间背景是Last weekend,用到的主要时态是一般过去时。一般过去时态,我们的学生们从四年级下学期就开始接触,五年级上又强化学习过,但是本单元动词较多,每一个动词的过去式又各不相同,所以在动词过去式的学习上还需要加强。
Farmland板块中,学生要掌握的核心句型是There is/are…There was/were。要通过听对话回答相关的问题以及填空练习,来理解对话的内容并掌握。同时还需在教学设计中进行不断复现和语境创设,帮助学生学会灵活运用。
根据本单元的教学内容,基于单元整体教学设计的理念,我们以Happy Holiday为主题,三个课时话题分别为Visit to Shanghai(1)(输出为复述故事),Visit to Shanghai(2) (输出为回复外国朋友一封E-mail,为他规划上海一天的行程),Stay at home(输出为续写故事)。
通过本单元的学习,让学生认识、了解上海,培养学生从小热爱上海、热爱家乡,热爱祖国的情结,引导学生了解上海的著名景点,并鼓励学生向外国友人介绍中国文化。活学活用,在实践中能够用英语来介绍上海的著名景点,并合理制定一天的导游计划。
【单元教学目标】

Last weekend a group of American students came to visit Shanghai.
They visited Yu Garden and the Bund on Saturday morning. They drank tea in a lovely teahouse in Yu Garden. And they took a lot of photos along the Bund.
In the afternoon, they visited the Shanghai Museum and the Grand Theatre. In the evening, they went to the big shops on Nanjing Road. They bought many presents for their friends: Chinese knots, paper cuts and silk scarves.
On Sunday morning they went to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and had a bird’s-eye view of Shanghai. “Shanghai is really a beautiful modern city!” they said.
In the afternoon the students left Shanghai for Beijing. They took the maglev train to the airport. The train was very fast and they felt excited.
