Period 1 Sightseeing in Shanghai

Jenny: I will visit Shanghai this weekend. Can you tell me something about Shanghai?

Hong Wei: Of course. If you want to see modern Shanghai, you can go to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It is in Pudong.

Jenny: Then, what can we see over there?

Hong Wei: There are many high buildings nearby. And you can get there by Metro Line 2. Jenny: Sounds great! Are there any interesting places in Puxi?

Hong Wei: Yes. Take a ship to Puxi, the Bund is a good plac e to visit. It’s along the Huangpu River. There are a lot of wonderful buildings along the Bund.

Jenny: How can we get there, Hong Wei?

Hong Wei: You can get there by Bus 934, Bus 37 and so on.

Jenny: Oh, I can’t wait to visit Shanghai.

Tom: Hello, Mingming. What interesting places can we visit in Shanghai?

Mingming: If you’re interested in shopping, Nanjing Road is a good place to visit. It’s near the Bund. There are many big shops along the road. At night, you can see the beautiful neon lights. You can get there by Metro Line 10 or Metro Line 2.

Tom: I’d like to have some Chinese food. Where can we go?

Mingming: Oh, if you’re interested in eating, then go to Yu Garden. It’s near Fuyou Road. There are many old Chinese buildings in it. You can see a lovely tea house in it, too. Take Metro Line 10, then you can get there.

Tom: Wow, so many interesting places. I can’t wait to visit.
