Step 2:Presentation and practice

Encourage students to find out the rule1---We usually link a consonant sound with a vowel sound. Practice: Part A

Read: there are, for us, here is Encourage students to find out the rule2---When the first word ends in –r or re and the next word begins with a vowel sound, we join them together with a r sound between them. Practice: Part B

(3) Read: we enjoy, go out ,the other Encourage students to find out the rule3--- When there are two vowel sounds, we join them as if there were a j or w sound betweenthem.

Encourage students to find out the rule4---When two consonant sounds of two words meet, we sometimes do not need to pronounce the first consonant sound. Practice: Part D

Step3 :Listening Play the tape for the students to read after. Ask them to read once and once.

Step4：Homework: Practise reading the words in groups. Find 3 phrases for each rule.
