一．教材分析

A Lively City 是外研版第一册Module 4 A Social Survey---My Neighborhood中的阅读课文。这是一篇对话文章，它以简洁的对话向人们展示了厦门的地理位置，气候以及城市概况，如旅游景点、建筑、商业区及古浪屿的风光等。厦门是一个美丽的城市，它的工业发达，商业兴隆，气候宜人，有许多名胜古迹和自然风景，的确是个充满活力、吸引人的城市。通过阅读，使学生了解厦门的基本概况，并结合学生的实际生活，让他们讨论并描述自己去过的或喜欢的城市。通过创设各种活动，使学生积极参与课堂活动。

二．学情分析

我校的高中学生，大部分英语基础薄弱，并且英语阅读能力较差，学生主动学习性不高。且刚升入高中的学生还没有掌握略读、跳读等阅读能力和技巧及识别关键词，确定主题句等策略。因而采用多媒体教学，设置学生感兴趣的问题来激发学生的学习兴趣，使他们能积极主动地参与到课堂的学习中。

三．教学目标

用所学词汇及语言点进行交流和沟通，并从不同方面来描述一个城市。

利用多媒体教学手段营造积极和谐的教学气氛，使学生能轻松愉快的投入到课堂的学习中。

在阅读及语言运用的过程中，逐渐培养学生分析问题和解决问题的能力，并进一步激发学生的创造能力。

情感态度与价值观

通过本文的学习，培养学生热爱自己家乡的情感，并让学生体会与朋友交往的乐趣。

四．教学重点与难点

1．

重点：如何利用略读、跳读等阅读技巧和识别关键词，确定主题句，掌握推测概况的阅读方法和策略。

2．

难点：用所学词汇及语言点进行交流和沟通，并从不同方面来描述一个城市。

五．教学过程

Step 1: Leading-in Play an exciting song named Better City, Better Life before the class to arouse students’ attraction and interests. Then show some beautiful pictures of Shanghai to the students.(通过欢快的歌曲----2010上海世博会主题曲，让学生放松身心，并营造轻松的课堂氛围，调动学生的兴趣和积极性。通过上海美丽的风景而导入新课---A Lively City.) Step 2: Pre-reading 1. Guesswork: Where is it?

Hint 1 It’s a coastal city , which is beautiful and clean . Hint 2 It is located in Fujian province. Hint 3 It is famous for the Gulangyu Island.
