Ss will be able to understand the whole story and get to know the true meaning of beauty. Teaching difficult point: The pronunciation of the word “beautiful” and phrase “wait a minute”. Teaching procedures: Step 1: warm up 1.

Free talk. 2.

Teacher and Ss chant together. (The man is the father…) Step2 pre-reading 1.

The picture of the story will be presented; Ss try to tell who they are in the picture. 2.

Some beautiful pictures will be showed to teach the word “beautiful”

and the sentence “How beautiful!” and “she is beautiful!”. e.g. T: Do you know who is she?

Ss: she is Zhao Liying! T: She is …(beautiful). So follow me: she is beautiful! 3.

The pictures of Yangmi and Baby will be showed to teach the new word “actress”. The same way will be used to teach the word “really”

and “wait a minute”. Step 3. While-reading 1.

Watch the video and think about the following questions: ①Who is beautiful in the story? ②

Who is an actress? ③What does Zoom’s father do? 2.

Watch the video again and try to read after it. 3.

More explanations will be given if Ss are not clear about the story. Step 4. Post-reading 1.

SS try to role play the story with the teacher and then in groups. 2.

Some Ss will be invited to role play the story. 3.

Discussion: what kind of person is beautiful? Step 5. Homework Read the story with your partners. Step 6. Sing a song together to end this class. (I love my family)
