This lesson is from KP primary English Book 5. It’s listening and speaking part—

let’s talk. The topic is about jobs, which is easy to arouse students’ learning interests.

II. Teaching aims 1.

Knowledge aims: students can grasp the words: farm, easy, policeman, interesting. And the sentence pattern: what do you do? Where do you work?. 2.

Ability aims: Ss can improve their listening and speaking ability by using the target language in real situations. 3.

Emotion aims: Ss can realize that jobs do not represent who you are. Key points and difficult points

1. The key point is to master the words: farm, easy, policeman interesting and the sentence pattern: what do you do? Where do you work?. 2. The difficult point is to make full use of them in real situations. III. Teaching procedures Step 1 Warming up 1.Greetings 2.Listen to an English song What does he do?,

then sing together. Step 2 Lead-in

Let students say words about jobs as many as they can, then lead in the topic. Step 3 Presentation 1. Review some words about jobs. a. guess the people’s job. b. Play a bomb game. 2. Learn some words about work places. a. Talk about the places according to the pictures. b. Match and say. 3. learn the key sentence pattern a. Teacher demonstrates how to describe one’s job and working place.

b. Students describe the pictures with“I am …. I work ….”. c. Lead in the sentence pattern: What do you do? Where do you work. d. Ask and answer according to the pictures. Step 4 practice 1. play a game: listen to the music and pass a ball. When the music stops, one student answers the question. 2. Create a situation: students come to the world in 2037 and make a dialogue with their partner.

Step 5 Consolidation Chant the target language with clapping the hands. Step 6 Summary

Sum up the new learning and remind students jobs do not represent who you are.
