Teaching procedures: Step 1 Lead-in 1.Start The Little Dandelion from talking about the end of the story and try to find out the changes about Dabdelion/people/other flowers. 2.Encourage students to analyze the story With the question “Did Dandelion really turn into a beautiful yellow rose at last?

Step 2 Phasing-in 1.(P13-15) (1)Encourage students to describe the appearance and feelings of Dandelion and find out how people and other flowers treated Dandeliond. (2)Encourage students to compare the beginning and end of the story to find out why they changed. 2.(16-17) (1)Encourage students to find out what changes took place in Dandelion with the help of Rebecca. And how Rebecca helped her; why people changed their attitude towards her. (2)Guide students to understand some excellent qualities of Dandelion. (3)Point out the central meaning of the story: “If you are in full bloom, the butter will come.”

3.(17-18) (1)Encourage students to find out if Dandelion felt Rebecca’s help. (2)Guide students to discuss what is true friendship in their life. Step 3 pointing out the theme (1)

Guide students to understand what was really not changing. (2)

Help students dig what the write really wants to tell the readers. Homework: Write a short passage: What would you like to say to Dandelion/people/other flowers?
