教材分析

本单元的主要话题是描述一些令人惊奇的事。有大自然的神奇，鬼事件，及最后提到发明三明治的男人，整个单元充满了奇人奇事。围绕这个话题出现了很多关于表达个人感情色彩的词组、句型。本课时作为本单元第一课时，先让学生了解一些不同寻常的现象和事件，引起学生的兴趣，为后面的学习打好铺垫，然后让学生使用形容词来表达自己的感受和见解。通过本课时的学习，学生感受到大自然的神奇魅力，会更加热爱生活，热爱祖国；掌握句型“Fish sleep with their eyes open. The sun is about 1,300,000 times larger than the Earth.”等。

学情分析

七年级学生年龄小，活泼好动，注意力容易分散，影响他们进入学习状态的因素更是多种多样。因此，在教学过程中，我精心设计了各种游戏活动，给学生展示丰富多彩的令人吃惊的图片或小短片，从而增强学生的学习兴趣和唤起他们的学习注意力，进而充分调动学生的学习积极性和主动性。

设计理念

本课时的设计主要是围绕本单元的话题展开，通过利用多媒体展示丰富多彩的图片和视频，培养学生的学习兴趣，提高学生英语学习的积极性，使他们很好地融入英语知识的学习过程中。通过融合视、听、说、讨论、表演等方式，从而锻炼学生各方面的技能，让学生在课堂上得到更全面的发展，使学生在听和说的训练中提高英语交际能力，从而牢固地掌握基础知识，达到灵活运用的目的。

教学步骤

Step1 Warming up 1.呈现一段大象表演的视频，并问学生看到这视频的惑受： Look at this video， how do you feel when you see such a video? 2.告诉学生，我们的世界允满了令人惊叹的事物： The world is full of amazing？板书并教学新单词： amazing 3.通过询向学生引入话题： Can you tell me some amazing things? （启发学生开动筋，回答问题）

Step2 Lead-in 1.出示一幅太阳和月亮的图片，利用图片学习生词： What can you see in the picture? 和学生一起回答： The Sun and the Earth。继续问学生： Which one is larger? The Sun or the Earth? Of course the Sun。让学生阅读并感受句子： The Sun is about 1300) times larger than the earth. 2.继续展示动物、人类及自然界的amazing things，在句子中学习新单词bone，fat，birth，back，same, fact和短语stop doing sth. （在教授back时也可以运用手碰碰自己的背，这样学习单词和短语比孤立地学习单词更形象。）

3. Tell them we learn about some amazing things and new words ，now try to remember them. Then we will have a PK between boys and girls.给学生时间记忆句子，然后进行男女生比赛。

（这样做可以激发他们的竞争意识，使其进一步掌握所学词汇和用法）

Step3 Practice 1.指导学生完成A部分的练习。教师说： Today we'll learn a lot of amazing things. In Part A, you can see four pictures. Please match the pictures with the sentences. Practice reading the sentences by yourselves. 2.让学生自由朗读并记忆有关奇异现象的句子： Let's read the sentences again 3.让学生熟悉其中的表达方式

方法一：学生用所给词汇填空，教师说： Close your books and let me see if you can remember the four amazing things (1)____sleep with their eyes open. (2)Our nose and ears never___, but our nose and ears the same size from___ (3)The Sun is about 1,300,000___ larger than the___ (4) There are no___in the back of elephants' feet-only fat 方法二：展示部分的四幅图，让学生描述图片，教师可以问： Can you tell 2

me some amazing things about elephants/the Earth/human beings/fish? It'll be better if you can do it without your books。可以多找几个学生反复练习。

Step4 Role-play 1.练习用已学过的形容词来表达各人的感受： Now you have learnt some amazing things。 How do you feel?板书学生说出的形容词，如： amazing, cool, funny, great, wonderful and interesting. 2.播放B部分录音，对学生说： Kitty and Amy are talking about the fun facts in Part A. Listen to their conversation and tell me which pictures they're talking about and what they think of the facts (听录音回答问题，简单的问题几乎每个学生都能回答，可以调动学生的积极性。) 3.请一位学生回答： They are talking about Pictures 1 and 4. They think they are interesting and amazing 4.再次播放录音，让学生跟读： Close your books and listen to the conversation again. Try to repeat the sentences. 5.把全班分成两组，分角色朗读对话： Now the boys will role-play Kitty and the girls will role-play Amy. Let's read the conversation together. Try not to look at the book if you can.

Step5 Show time 1. 继续向一些学生提问一些问题

T: Do you remember any interesting facts about elephants? S: Yes. There are no bones in the back of their feet—only fat. T: Isn't that Interesting? S: Yes. It is. 2. Get students to talk about some amazing things in pairs or groups, using Kitty and Amy's conversation as a model. 3.选择多组学生在班级内表演对话： Can you tell us some amazing things?

Step6 Comic strip 1. T: Hobo and Eddie are talking about amazing things，too. What’s the amazing things？ 2.教师呈现第一幅图，遮住对话让学生猜窗外闪光的是什么，并根据Eddie和Hobo的表情猜测它们分别说了什么： What's in the sky? Look at Eddie and Hobo。Can you guess what they're saying? 3.呈现第二幅图，给出Eddie的话，让学生猜测Hobo的想法： What does Hobo think it is? Does he think it's a UFO? 4.呈现第三幅图，给出Eddie的话，遮住Hobo的回答，请学生猜Hobo的想法

5.呈现第四幅图，遮住对话中的plane和small这两个词，让学生根据图画内容判断应该填什么词最符合图意

6.让学生看动画跟读，同时核对答案。T： Open your books。 Repeat the sentences and check your answers at the same time. 3

Step7 Practice 1.让学生看漫画，进行配音话动，之后再选不同层次的小组进行展示

2.学生两人一组练习表演对话： Work in pairs， one as Hobo and the other as Eddie鼓励学生根据自己的想象添加适当的语言，动作； You can add your own ideas to your own play. （进行表演，调动学生主动参与的热情，还可以用掌声等来表示鼓励。）

Step8 Homework 1.熟读本课时所学内容，记忆词汇、词组和句型。

2.能力较强的学生熟读 Comic strip和B部分内容。

教学反思

作为本单元内容教学的第一课时，教师利用视频和图片导入新课，自然地导入本单元主题，并呈现新单词，吸引学生注意力的同时又增加了学生的好奇心。利用各种手段、方式激励学生敢说英语、爱说英语，一切以学生的学习兴趣为出发点例如，把所学单词用情景展示出来；鼓励学生大声朗读对话，我及时用语言激励他们，给他们信心。学生编对话时，鼓励学生用不同的语句去表达，使新的英语知识学习充分与已有的水平相结合，提高学生的学习兴趣与效率。

与此同时，整个教学过程还存在着问题和不足，例如:1、在处理 Comic strip中Edie和Hobo的对话时，让学生表演这个对活，对话比较简单，由于指令不清楚，学生都是看着书读的。如果能说明 Don't read it Try to act it out without books，相信学生也能把对话表演得很好的。2，对于新旧知识的衔接没有充分考虑到。
