Step1. Leading in
T: Good morning, everyone! How are you?
T: Look! Who is she? Yes. She is me. And this is my friend—Amy. T: Amy will go to China. She will visit many cities in China.
【设计意图】以外国朋友Amy来中国游玩为话题,导入本课的学习。
Step2. Let’s learn
T: Amy will go to Beijing, Shanghai, Lhasa and Sanya.
Where is...?
T: There is a compass. It can help us.
T: Look! How to read it?
S: Eat.
T: Yes. Then,How to read this one?( 在eat中间加“s”变成east) S: East.
T: Do you know this word?
S: Best.
T: How about this one? (将best的首字母变成w,形成新单词west) S: West.
T: And this word.
S: Mouth.
T: This one? ( 将mouth首字母变成“s”出现新单词south) S: South
T:The last one: “or” pronounce [ Ɔ:]
S: North.
【设计意图】根据Amy游玩的计划,让学生作为今天的导游,讲解中国的旅游景点和城市。在学习四个方位的单词时,利用学生熟知的单词,通过字母添加、转换的方式,让学生尝试拼读新学单词,这样便于学生理解和记忆。

【设计意图】从学生的生活经验出发,充分利用孩子们所处的位置和周围热悉的环境以及地图等工具在教学中直观地引导学生了解地图方向的标识(上北下南,左西右东)、中国领土的区域划分和名胜古迹。通过多种形式让学生熟练掌握单词和句型的运用。

【设计意图】通过合作形式,熟练运用基本句型。

【设计意图】教授语言知识的同时,尽可能地带着学生领略一些自然风光和著名的景点,以丰富学生的视野、唤醒学生潜在的学习动力,使之能积极地投入学习,同时进一步了解地理知识。

T: My friend is from the USA. Where is she live? Here is a letter from her. Let’s read. ( 出示朋友的来信,找出关键信息)
S: She lives in New York.
T: Where is New York?
S: It’s in the east of the USA.
T: What do you think of New York?

【设计意图】首先猜测Amy居住的地方,然后阅读Amy的来信,了解Amy现住城市New York的特点。根据学生现有的认知水平设计活动,在此基础上适当拓展语言。
Step8. Conclusion
T: Next time,I will visit my friend. And I hope to travel around the world. There is such a lot of world to see.
Homework
1. Where do you live? Where is it? Write a letter to Amy.
2. Write down the words four times.
