一、教学内容:义务教育教科书英语六年级上册Unit7 Protect the Earth(Story time)

二、教学目标:

1. 能听懂、会说、会读词汇Protect, Earth, save, useful, waste, reuse, energy, most, come from, coal, wood, cut down, too many, plastic, too much.

2. 四会单词:use, much, oil, drive, other, glass, collect.

3. 能使用句型We use...to... We should... We shouldn’t... 等句型谈论保护地球。

4. 通过课文四个方面的学习,引导学生热爱地球、保护地球。

三、教学重难点:

1. 能够使用本课中的We use...to...结合生活实际进行拓展交谈。使用We should...和We should not...谈论如何保护地球。

2. 课文中重点词汇如Earth, useful, waste, come from, cut down, too many的音形义。

3. protect, plastic, coal, oil的发音。

四、教学方法

Step1. Warm up

1. Free talk and lead in

T: Hello, boys and girls. Do you like playing games? Let’s play a guessing game.OK?

Riddle1: The Moon.

Riddle2: The Earth.

2.True or false

T: Here are some sentences. Please read and judge.

3.Think and say

There are lots of things on the Earth. What’s on the Earth?

S: There are a lot of people/trees/animals/rivers and lakes...on Earth. T: The Earth is beautiful. So we should protect the Earth.

Teach: Protect the Earth.

Step2. Reading

1.Pro-reading

T: How to protect the Earth? Let’s watch the cartoon. Then find the ways to protect the Earth in the text.

S: To protect the Earth, we should Save water, Save energy, Save trees, Don’t use too much plastic. (相机板书:water, energy, trees, plastic) 2.While reading

Part1 Save water

1. T: Look at the boy, what is he doing?

S:He is brushing the teeth.

T: Is that right? What shouldn’t he do? What should he do? Listen to the first step then answer the questions.

S: We shouldn’t waste water. We should reuse and save it.

Teach: waste, reuse

T: What does reuse mean, explain the word according to the picture. S: First I use the water to wash rice, next I reuse the water the vegetables, then I reuse it to wash the mop, finally I reuse the water to clean the toilet.

T: Is there much water in many places? What do people use water to do?

2.Do a survey.

3.Read step1 after the tape.

Part2 Save energy.

1.T: Water is useful. Energy is also useful. To save energy. What should we do? What should not we do? Look at the tip, read part2 and underline the sentences.

2.Check the answers. S: We should save energy. We should not drive cars

so much because cars use a lot of energy.

Most of our energy comes from coal and oil. What does “most of”mean?(A all of the energy B a lot of energy)

3.Read part2 after the tape.

1.T: What about trees and plastic. Let’s learn by yourselves. How to learn by yourselves? We have three things to do.

Step1. Read and underline.

Step3. After reading

1. T: Now let’s watch a video. Then tell me who said on the video? S: He is President Xi Jinping.

T: He has a well-know saying. Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. What does it mean in Chinese. Choose one.(******:金山银山不如青山绿水。)

T: Our government attach importance to environment very much. As a student, we can write a proposal to let the people about it. Now let’s write

a proposal.

2.Write a proposal in group of four.(四人小组合作完成一份倡议书。)

3.Share the proposal.

Step4. Summary

At last, everyone should remember a word. Now let’s read it together. Protecting the environment, everyone’s duty.

Step5. Homework

1. Read the text 3 times. try to retell it.

2. Read your proposal to your parents.

3. Make a poster about protecting the Earth.
