Unit 8 Chinese New Year (Story time)

教材分析:译林2011课标版六年级上册Unit8 Chinese New Year的Story time 板块,是本单元的第一课时也是核心板块,在单元整体教学中自然占据了重要的地位。本单元围绕中国的新年(春节)这一主题展开,让学生了解春节的风俗习惯。如:节日时间、节日美食及节日丰富多彩的活动等。同时文本是以电子邮件的形式出示,让学生在信息化社会中学会用电子邮件与人联系和交往,关注邮件格式。另外本课的主人公Anna来自香港,文中也讲述了中国南方过年的独特习俗如吃汤圆、买花等和中国北方的过年方式有略微的区别,教师可以挖掘这一隐含信息教授给学生。

学情分析:六年级的学生已经具备了一定的英语水平,在教师的引导下,可以进行流利的语言输出。在五年级下册学生已经学过了Chinese Festivals具备一定的知识储备,可以通过旧知联系新知。

教学目标:

1.能听懂、会读、会说Hong Kong, tangyuan, Chinese New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year’s Day, red packet, lion danc e, fireworks.

2.能听懂、会读、会说一般将来时的句子I’m /We’re going to …

3.能正确的理解并朗读课文,能试着复述课文。

4.能初步了解一般将来时,并能用一般将来时的句子描述将要做的事情。

教学过程:

Step 1. Lead in

1.Greetings with the students.

2.Invite them to enjoy some pictures and a rhyme about Chinese New Year.

Ask them a question. These pictures are about a festival.

Which festival is it?

Ss: Spring Festival.

T: What do we also call it?

S: We also call it Chinese New Year.

T: Good job. So today we will learn Unit8 Chinese New Year. (引入课题)

3.Talk about plans for Chinese New Year

T: We know Chinese New Year is coming soon. Do you have any plans for it? What are you going to do at Chinese New Year?

You know I’m going to buy some new clothes. I’m going to watch TV.

What about you?

Please pay attention to the usage of “be going to”.

Let’s talk in groups of four.

S1: I’m going to eat some nice food.

S2: I’m going to watch Spring Festival Gala.

I’m going to get some red packets.

Ss: Yes, I do.

S3:I’m going to watch fireworks.

4.T: Wow, you are going to do so many things at Chinese New Year. Are you excited?

Ss: Yes, we are.

T: A little girl is also very excited. Can you guess who she is?

Step 2. Presentation

1.About Anna.

T: This is Anna. What do you know about her? Who is she? Where is she from? S: She is Su Hai’s e-friend. She is from Hong Kong.

T:Do you know where Hong Kong is? (邀请学生运用希沃白板的画笔功能将香港的地理位置圈出来,通过地图让学生更为直观的了解到香港位于中国的南方。在地域广博的中国,南北方庆贺春节的习俗是有不同的,为下文出示的南北方文化差异做好铺垫)

2.Watch and order

T:Anna is very excited about Chinese New Year. What is she going to do? Le t’s watch and order.

3.Read and underline

T: You know the right order very well. But why do you order like this? What is your reason?

S: I order like this according to the time.

T: Yes. We order like this according to the sequence of time. This time let’s read the text and underline the key phrases about time.

学生自读课文,并画出关键词。

T:Who wants to come here and underline the time phrases for us.

T:Thank you. Now let’s have a look at the four phrases.

出示before Chinese New Year, on Chinese New Year’s Eve, on Chinese New Year’s Day, on the second day of Chinese New Year 并教读。

T: (出示2018年日历)Who can come here and circle when is Chinese New Year’s Day this year?

S: It’s on the 16th of February. (运用希沃白板的画笔功能,让学生将今年的春节日期2月16日圈出来,让学生通过日历直观地理解课文中四个时间短语)

4.Read with your eyes.

T: What is Anna going to do before Chinese New Year?

(出示文字及图片,引导学生看图读)

S:She is going to buy some new clothes and food.

T: What is she going to do then?

S: She is going to make some cakes and tangyuan.

(教师板书并教读buy some new clothes and food, make some cakes and tangyuan).

5.Read with your ears.

T: What is Anna going to do on Chinese New Year’s Eve, please listen carefully. (播放课文录音)

Anna is going to have dinner with her family.

She is going to buy some flowers.

6.Read with your mouth.

T: What is Anna going to on Chinese New Year’s Day and the second day of Chinese New Year? Please read loudly and find the answers.

S: (运用希沃白板课堂活动的趣味分类功能提高学生的学习兴趣) She is going to get some red packets and watch a lion dance on Chinese New Year’s Day. She is going to watch fireworks on the second day of Chinese New Year.

T: You did a really good job.

7.Listen and imitate.

T: Now, let’s listen and imitate.

Step3. Consolidation

1.Reading time.

T: It’s reading time. Four students a group, choose a way to read.

If you read together, you can get one red packet. If you read in paragraphs, you can get two red packets. If you can retell, you can get three red packets.

T: We know Anna is from Hong Kong. It’s in the south of China.

(出示中国地图) Look, this is Bei Jing. It’s in the north of China. I have a question for you. Do people in Hong Kong and Bei Jing have the same customs in celebrating Chinese New Year?

Ss: No, they don’t.

T: Yes, you’re right. Here’s a cultural tip for you. People in south of China and north China have different customs in celebrating Chinese New Year. Let’s watch a video about this cultural difference. (播放视频,了解中国南北方庆祝春节的不同风俗)

3.Talk and write

T: What are you going to do at Chinese New Year? Let’s talk and then write. Ss: Talk first and then write.
