Every day hundreds of tons of rubbish are thrown into the ocean; Every month thousands of tons of are poured into the ocean; Every year millions of tons of oil are leaked into the ocean. All of these improper human activities have brought terrible, negative and harmful results. The polluted area of the ocean is becoming larger year by year; many species of marine plants are dying out; the number of marine animals is reducing in great numbers. As everybody knows, the ocean is the cradle of life. Protecting the ocean is protecting the environment; protecting the environment is protecting the earth; protecting the earth is protecting us. Therefore, some effective measures must be

taken to improve the polluted marine environment. Rubbished should be transported to the garbage disposal plants, waste water from factories should be purified before dumped into the sea, ships for transporting oil should be timely checked and repaired.

Only if all of us give a hand can we expect a bright, beautiful and hopeful future. With this hope in mind we can see the charming blue sea again; with this hope in mind we can see fish of all sorts swimming happily in the ocean again; with this hope in mind we could see people live harmoniously with the environment again.
