一、教学内容分析

This lesson is about the Past Participle as the Adverbial. By giving some examples and a lot of exercises to lead the students to learn how to use the past participle by themselves. This part is a little difficult for the students but it is very important for them to better understand long sentences in reading. Using the past participle can beautify the students’ composition.

二、教学目标

The students in senior 2 know some rules about adverbial clause and how to use the past participle words as adverbial properly. There are a lot of important points and difficult points for them to master. 四、教学策略选择与设计

Students are expected to learn the rules of the past participle as adverbial, so this lesson will center on the topic and carry out the self-learning and task-based teaching methods. And most importantly, we can not only improve their writing skills but also raise their awareness of cultural communication.

Step one: Warming up Offer them some pictures and a video (猴在囧途）about Wu Kong’s story. In the story a lot of past participle words are used as adverbial.

Step two: Self-learning Ask them to work in groups to learn by themselves and make a summary about how to use the past participle as adverbial. Draw a mind picture to help them better understand it.（思维导图）

Step three: More practice

Practice (1) Complete the sentences using the past participle as adverbial and then guess what it is.（新四大发明）

Practice (2)

Offer them a dialogue（悟空的微信初体验）, and ask them to complete the sentences using the past participle

Step four: Challenge

Get into groups and make sentences with the past participles given as adverbials . Each group is expected to give at least 5 sentences. Practice (4) Choose some of the sentences and try to make them into a short passage. They may need to rewrite some of the sentences, but remember to keep the past participle as an adverbial.
