Unit2 Cloning—Using Language II教学设计

Analysis of teaching material:

This lesson is designed according to the meaning of cloning. Exercise activities are various. It includes two parts. The first part is listening, containing three exercise activities. The first one is to get the main idea of the passage; the second one is to fill in the form; The last one is to practise students’ spoken English. The second part is to let Ss write a passage according to what they have talked about.

Teaching Aims:

1.

Let the students focus on the different attitude towards cloning technology. 2. Help the students learn how to write a passage about acceptance and refusal.

Teaching important points:

Give the students some advice on what to do during pre-listening and

while-listening, such as how to make notes of key points and how to predict the content and so on. Teaching difficult points:

1. Work together with partners and show their own opinions.

2. How to write a passage about acceptance and refusal

Step I Pre-listening (4 mins）

Play a short video about experimenting with animals and then ask Ss whether experimenting with animals is cruel or not. T: Do you think experimenting with animals for cloning is cruel or not? S1: I think cloning is useful.......because...... S2: I think it’s not a good idea to……because……

Purpose: Let Ss learn about the background of the listening material and predict the content of the listening. text.

Step II While-Listening (12 mins)

Give the students to write it out in 10 minutes, and then the students give performances.

Purpose: The aim of the class discussion is to encourage Ss to express their personal opinions about animal cloning.

Step5. Summary(2mins)
