一. Teaching objectives: 1. Knowledge objectives: a. Ss be able to master the pronunciation rule of "U" in closed syllables by reading the story "bob bug". b. Ss be able to review the pronunciation rules of "A", "I", "O" in closed syllables by reading the story "Bob bug". c. Ss be able to understand the story fully. 2. Ability objectives: Ss be able to master the reading skills such as finding out the key information and predicting the content and the meanings of words. 3. Emotional objectives: Ss be able to feel love and express their love. 二. Teaching key points and difficulties: 1. Ss be able to understand the meanings of the words: lid, fit, cot, rug. 2. Ss be able to understand the sentence structure "Bob bug has... ..." 三. Teaching aids:

PPT, a cup with a lid, pictures and word cards. 四. Teaching procedure: Step 1: Warm up

1. Ss listen to the song "A is for apple. Step 2: Lead-in Ss get to know something about Bob. Step 3: Pre-reading

1. Ss get to know the sound of "U" by words bug, rug, hug. Step 4: While-reading

1. T and Ss talk about the cover, Ss enjoy the story once.

2. T asks the question: "Why is Bob bug happy?",Ss listen to the story again and try to find the answer. 3. Ss read the story by themselves, try to answer "Why is Bob unhappy now?" 4. Ss try to answer: “Why is Bob happy again?”

Step 5: After-reading 1.

Ss listen to the story and read the story by themselves. 2.Ss get to know some picture books.

3. Ss look at the blackboard, try to retell the story according to the words and pictures and put the words in the rightplace. Step 6: Homework1. Read the story "Bob bug" after class. 2. Try to tell your friends this story. 3. Read more picture books .
