一、教材分析

本单元是在前两个单元的基础上继续学习一般过去时，单元话题是“过去和现在”,通过过去与现在的学习、

工作和生活等方面的对比, 让学生感受科技如何改变生活。本课时是本单元的第六课时，本版块的故事语境是Zoom 和Zip 在看杂志，杂志的主要内容:通过人类烹调方式、地球环境以及鲸鱼古今未来的变化，复习并巩固本单元所学的核心语言。同时，补充学习一些跨学科的历史、生物知识。

二、学生分析

六年级的学生已经有了良好的英语学习习惯，形成了适合自己的学习方法，大部分的学生已经积累了一定量的英语语言知识，能有效地参与英语课堂活动。在前两个单元的基础上，学生基本掌握了一般过去时的用法，所以本课时的内容相对来说学生容易理解接受。

三、教学目标

1. 学生能够在图片和教师的帮助下阅读故事，理解故事的大概意思。

2. 学生能够按照正确的语音、语调及意群朗读故事，并能完成读后内容梗概。

3. 学生能在语境中猜测、理解这些词的意思

四、教学重难点

难点：在情境中应用三种时态描述事物的变化。

 Look at Zoom’s change : Zoom changed a lot . Before he liked to eat , but now he likes reading . Look he is reading a magazine . Let’s talk : What’s the magazine about ? How many parts in the story ?

Watch the video and check the answers , then write the key words on the blackboard . 2.While-reading

Tips: While reading , please underline the key information and circle the new words.

A. OK , let’s read the first part then find out the changes of cooking and finish the table.

Then think about : How do you like the changes ? -- The changes are good .
