【教学内容】Book8《Module 8 Unit 1 He lives in the east of the US.》【教学目标】

1. 知识目标:本单元的重点是让学生描述方位。

主要单词、词组:country,west,east,in the west,in the east,cousin, maybe ,New York,Los Angeles ,WashingtonD.C 主要句型是:He lives in the east of the US.

Los Angeles is in the west of the US.

2. 能力目标:使学生能描述某一大范围内的某一地点的位置。

3. 情感态度:有兴趣了解美国的概况,如,地理位置,景点,著名城市…

4.学习策略目标:在课堂交流中,学生能注意倾听、大胆问答,能用英语进行思维活动和语言表达,积极与他人合作,共同完成学习任务。

【重点难点】如何描述某一大范围内的某一地点的位置及美国的城市。

【教学准备】单词卡,CD-Rom,四线格,磁石,课本,课堂活动用书

【教学过程】

一、Warm up

1. Sing a song. (Children from China are Chinese…)

【设计意图:通过歌曲引出新词country】

2. Enjoy the pictures of some country.

【设计意图:通过欣赏各个国家的图片,复习学过的国家,并引出美国】

二、Show the new materials.

1. Show the map of the US. Introuduce “方向标”to the students.And learning four words about direction: west、 east、 north、 south.

【设计意图:引出Listen and chant第一部分的学习】

2. Look at the map of the US. Learn to say something about the city marker.: New York、Los Angeles

【设计意图:通过看课本上的第一幅图,让学生自己尝试说出两座城市的名称,认读两座城市的名称,简单了解它们的特色,并为下面首先要讲的这两座城市做铺垫。】3. Daming and Sam are talking about the US.

Because somebody lives in the US.Listen to the CD-ROM and answer the questions. ① Who lives in the US?

New: cousin

【设计意图:整体感知课文,介绍Simon,引出新词cousin】

②Which city does Simon live?

New:He lives in New York.

4. Where is New York? Where is Los Angeles?

【设计意图:使学生尝试通过使用方向标,描述两座城市的东西位置,并学习east和west两个重点词汇以及重点句子。】

5. He lives in the east of the US.

Simon lives in New York. New York is in the east of America.

So Simon lives in the … of America.

【设计意图:通过前面学习的知识,判断Simon住在美国的位置,并学习重点句。】

6. Show a picture to practise with “Where’s New York? New York is in the east of the US.”

【设计意图:通过练习引出另外一个著名的城市WashingtonD.C,学习新单词WashingtonD.C和capital】

7. Listen and circle “east”, “west”.

8. Listen and repeat.

1.Listen to the tape and read the text 3 times.

2.Copy the key sentences.

3. Finish the Exercise 2 of Activity Book.
