Integrated skills Ⅰ. Teaching aim: ①

Knowledge aim : Help students learn some expressions about how to look after some pets. ②

Ability aim: enable students to properly analyze the answer sheet and extract right specific information from listening materials. ③

Emotional aim : Learn to look after your pet well Ⅱ. Key/ difficult points:

Enable students to analyze the listening material and get the correct information from it. Ⅲ.Teaching procedure 1.

Lead-in --- A guessing game ⑴Show 3 pictures of some parts of the pets’ body--- a goldfish, a monkey and a cat. ⑵Have students listen to 3 listening clip about 3 pets---rabbit, parrot and pig. ⑶Show a riddle about dogs. 2.

Show a picture of 2 goldfish and remind students of the poem about goldfish they have learnt by asking “Do you still remember the poem about goldfish”?

Then ask them to read the poem and do a blank-filling task. Based on the blank-filling, ask students to summarize the feature about goldfish: Goldfish are easy to look after. 3.

Quick answer: What else do you know about goldfish ? Is a goldfish heavy? Does it need clean water? Can you take it out of water? Does it need special fish food ? Is a goldfish very expensive? 4.

Listen and write T or F. First offer some listening tips : ①Read and make prediction ②Underline the key words or phrases Then listen twice Answer checking: tell T or F and correct the mistakes. Ask students to read together. 5.
