Step1: Leading-in. Play a guessing game. (Look at some pictures and guess what outdoor activity it is.) Step2: Chinese kites.[来源:Zxxk.Com]

1. Show some pictures of kites in different shapes. 2. Listen and complete Part A1. 3. Introduce the four famous people involved by listening while teaching some new words.[来源学科网ZXXK]

4. Listen and Match each person with the correct event in Part A2. 5. Fill in some of the blanks in Part A3.

( Before listening again , students read the passage themselves and complete some of the blanks according to A2. ) 6. Listen to the whole passage again and fill in the rest blanks. Step3: Speak up.

1. Listen to the dialogue and fill in the blanks. 2. Read the dialogue aloud with the recording. 3. Discuss in groups: “If we are going to have a day out, what can we do? What can’t we do?

What do we need to take? 4.

Work in pairs to

make up a new dialogue.

(List some aspects as hints for students to make up new dialogues.)

Step4: Consolidation. 1.

Group work: ask and answer practice(Work in groups and find out as many questions as possible according to A3.) 2.

Discussion: Which of them makes the greatest contribution to the development of kites? (Mozi, Lu Ban, Cai Lun, Marco Polo)

Step5: Time for appreciation. Enjoy two poems.

We should be proud of the great people in history and carry forward the Chinese traditional culture. Step6: Homework. 1. Retell the history of kites.
