What does he see?

A branch branch.

Then review the words of unit 7.

Chick. A:T: This is the chick. Sound chick.

He walks in the farm. Suddenly he sees sth.

Production

Then read : The chick see a branch.

B: But the chick is far from the branch. He can’t see it clearly. He thinks “there is a snake!”

C: he thinks the snake will bite him with its fangs.

So the chick is scared. He yells and runs away.

How does a chick yell?

Ask the students to imitate the chick yell. Listen to the tape, and repeat paragraph 1.

D: the same way to practice :

The chick sees smoke.

He yells and runs away.

Is there a real fire? No

There is no snake , silly. It’s only a branch. There is no fire, silly. It’s only a stove. Step 3. Listen to the tape again. Repeat and read the story. Act the story in four. Ask them to act as a “chick” in the front. (4 Ss in a group)

Step 4. How do you think of

the chick?

He is silly.

Why do you think he is silly?

The branch is not a snake.

The stove is not big fire.

If you want to make sure sth, watch it clearly, don’t be so

silly.
