Teaching Plan The Panda Base

Teaching objective(教学目标): Students at Grade Six have learned about different animals before, they have the knowledge of the names of many animals, and they love animals. And after learning this lesson, students may know more about panda and panda base. At the same time, it can arouse their obligation to the animal protection career.
Important and Difficult Points(教学重点和难点): 1.
To know about how a panda grows up; 2.
To know about the panda base in Sichuan province; 3.
Try to write a plan to protect the wild animals.

ppt , worksheet, videos and etc
Teaching Process(教学过程):
Before-reading (读前活动)
1.
Review-- Guessing Games
a. Little teacher leads the Ss to review the animal words.
Lead-in-- The riddle a. Teacher gives a riddle about panda. b. Introduce the wild panda and the panda in the panda base.
While-reading(读中活动)
1.
Ss tell the teacher what do they want to know about panda base according to the homework assigned before.
2.
Finish the TF exercise on P55
3.
Watch some pictures about how the scientists take care of the mother and the panda baby. 4.
Go through the passage and finish the mind map.
Extensive-reading(拓展阅读)
1.
Read an extensive passage about panda and finish the match exercise. 2.
Answer a question:Why are there animals in the panda base?
Moral education(思想教育)
1.
Watch a short video about the top 10 endangered animals in the world.
2.
Group discussion: what can we do to the endangered animals?
Writing 1.
Write a plan to protect the wild animals. 2.
