A. Greetings B. Review and leading 1. Show a picture about nouns of locality. Students read to one by one to get the meanings. And the teacher show the teaching prop to help students get it. 2. Take out the teaching aids. Put the ball and the dog in different places. Students review the sentences “There is a ball behind/ beside/ above/ in front of the dog.”. And then take out a box with something in it. But sudents have to guess what’s in it. Lead into the new sentence patern “ Is there ... in the ...? ” And the answer “Yes, there is. No, there isn’t.”

C. Presentation 1. Play the PPT , show some pictures with new words. Students read after the teacher. Choose someone to read firstly and others just follow him/her. 2. Show the plural forms of the words and help to read. 3. Put the new words into the sentence patern: There are many trees in the village.

Are there any trees in the village? Yes, there are. No, there aren’t. Here students pay attention to “any” in the patern. Ⅶ. Practice 1.

Writing Open the book at page 62, everyone write four sentences about the

picture above. 2.

Listening Let’s try at page 61, listen and fill in the blank. Help students find out the sentence “ Are there any tables? ”

Ⅷ. Groupwork Discussion : Use I like the city/the village because there is/are….

Give about one min for students to talk in pairs. Then report. Teacher: The village is beautiful and the city is flourishing. But we find some places in the city and in the village are not as good as we imagine. Show the pictures with environment pollution. Help students recognize it’s our duty to protect the environment and keep the beauty.
