S: There are two men. One is thin and tall. The other one is fat and short.

Step 2 Presentation 1. Show the title of this unit T: Those people are from the Andersen’s fairy tales---The king’s new clothes

Today, we will learn Unit1 The king’s new clothes(板书课题) 2. Present some new words

T: What do you think of the king? Does the king look clever? S: He is foolish. 学生学习新词clever, foolish. 3. Present the past tense T: When was the story happened?

S: Long long ago. T: Yes, so we can say: Long long ago, there was a king. He was fat and old.

There were two men.

There was a little boy.(板书以上三个过去式的句子) 向学生讲解一般过去时的意义并出示PPT was—is, am, were—are 【设计意图：从孩子们的假期引出一般过去时并且学习一般过去时的意义和be动词的过去式】
