Lesson 15 Teaching aims:

1. Listen, speak, read and write the words: music, art. Listen, speak and read the new word: subject, and the sentences: What subject do you like best? I like … best.

2. Read and understand the new dialogue and act it. 3. The student should know every subject is important.

Important points: The new words and sentences. Difficult points:

How to read subject and act the dialogue. Student analysis: The students of Grade 4 have a certain foundation for English. They have learned “English,Chinese,maths,music,art,PE”“Do you like ...? Yes,I do. I like ...” So, this lesson is easy for them. The students at this age are optimistic and positive,they are interested in the voice and animation,but they are easily distracted.So I set up two videos,some games,word cards and a beautiful song, to attract their attention and develop their interest in English. Teaching tools: ppt , different subject books, word cards, trophy

Teaching steps:

I.Warm up

1. Greeting. 2. Sing a song.

(Design intent:to active atmosphere)

3. Review the six subjects.(game) 4. Free talk: How many lessons do you have? What are they?(ppt shows a Class Schedule) (Design intent:Review the knowledge we have learned before, prepare for the introduction of this lesson.) II.presentation 1. Spell music and art on the PC board.The students write them down on the exercise book. Two students write them on the blackboard. (Design intent:

The students are interested in writing on the blackboard. Develop the interest of learning English.) Then learn “Do you like…? Yes, I do. No, I don’t. I like…”

Practice the sentences with the class schedule. 2. Maths/Chinese/ English is a subject. Learn “subject”

and “subjects”. Then learn “What subject do you like? I like…”

(Design intent: It’s easy to learn the two sentences,from easy

to difficult.) 3. I like Chinese, music and English, but I like English best. Let the students guess the meaning of the word “best”. Then learn “What subject do you like best? I like…best.” Ask and answer. Say with partner.

4. Extend. What color/animal/fruit/vegetable do you like best? Ask and answer. (Design intent: The students can use the sentences in our daily life.) 5. Do some exercises. Check the answers. (Design intent: Check if the students have learned or understood.) 6. Learn to say the chant. (Design intent:
