Step 1

Warming up 1.Greeting. 2.Do the action .

Teacher gives the order, ss do the action. Example: Stand up, please. Open your Student’s Book, please. Pick up your pen/pencil/ruler, please. Touch your nose, please. Sit down, please. Step 2

New concepts 1.look listen and say.

Play the tape of activity 1. Let them listen carefully. Play the tape again. The students read all, in groups, in personal. Retell the dialogue. Invite a student to come to the front. Explain that I’m going to say some instructions and he/she should follow them. The instructions should take

the student back to his/her seat. Example: T: Go straight on. S1 (walks straight on) T:

Turn right.

S1 (turns right) T: Go straight on. S1 (walks straight on) T: Stop! S1 (stops) Ask two students to come to the front of the class. Get one student to give instructions to the other until he/she goes back to the seat. Make sure the instructions are possible for the student to perform. 2.Listen and read. Play the tape , let the students try to understand the meaning of the text with the pictures. Read in pairs. Retell the text. Be a little ‘traffic police’.

Play this activity several times. 3. Look at the map. Then give directions. Before doing A3, revise words and expressions of positions with the class. Write the following words and expressions on the board:
