1.Students can read and understand the story. 2.Students can retell and act the story. 3.Students can create and act their own story regarding “family” topic through

team works.

4.Students can appreciate the loves from their family members.

Teaching Key & Difficult Points:

How to create their own family story and act it out. Teaching Aids: Pictures, PPT, video etc.

Teaching Procedures: Step1: Warm up &Leading in (2mins) Greeting, let’s sing (I love my family)

(justification: this step can help to warm up and lead into the “family”

topic directly)

Step2: Presentation:(10mins)

Teacher show a student’s family photo and let other students asking

questions: T: here is a family photo. Can you guess who is the boy/girl? Ss: She/He is XXX.

T: Well, you can ask XXX about his/her family members, you can ask

this way: Who is this man/woman? (Ss ask some questions later) T: She is beautiful! Or He is handsome. Or He/She is cute. (Teacher

write these words (beautiful, handsome, cute…)on the blackboard) 2.

T: (asking the student) : what is your mother’s job? Is she an

actress?(showing pictures on the PPT about what does an actress will do to help to understand the word “actress”) What does she do? (write some words about jobs on blackboard. Such as: actress,

teacher, cook…)

T:We will read a story about Zoom’s family. Let’s go and see.(teacher play the flash and then ask questions with the help of the flash)

T: Who is that woman?

Ss: She is Zoom’s mother. T: Is she beautiful?

Ss: Yes, she is . T: What is Zoom’s mother’s job?

Ss: she is an actress. (justification: this step can help students to understand the story. )

Step 3: practice :(10mins) 1.

Try to read the story.--(listen and follow the tape) 2.

Try to act the story.—role playing the story in a team. 3.

Act out the story. (justification: this step can help students to act the story and try to

understand more)

Step 4:consolidation:(15mins) 1.

Teacher do a demo of the story acting “my family”

with some help from other students. 2.

Ss Create and act out a story “my family” through teamwork. 3.

Teacher do the assessment and encourage students try to do better next time. .

(justification: this step can help students to consolidate what they have

learned and to enjoy English learning).

Step 5: Summary and Homework (3mins).
