《The snake and the rat》选自《PEP小学英语》教材五年级上册第四单元Part C Story Time。在这个单元中孩子们主要学习What can you do? I can…和Can you…?

Yes, I can. /No, I can’t.等句型。因此，这一节故事课主要是综合孩子们的已有语言知识，在理解故事的基础上进行有感情的朗读和角色表演。通过理解、朗读、表演故事等方式进一步提高学生的综合语言运用能力，以及培养他们自主运用语言的积极态度。

教学设计说明

如何带领孩子们在故事情境下理解故事、有感情的朗读故事并表演故事，我通过Pre-reading, While-reading 和Post-reading三个环节进行教学设计。在Pre-reading环节，我试图通过学生已学过的小故事的主要内容，来唤醒他们对故事的回忆，进而引出今天故事中的主人公“Snake”。在While-reading环节，我先让孩子们带着任务整体感知故事；然后通过分段精读的方式，一边解决问题，一边模仿朗读来体会Snake和Rat的情感，进而学习和理解故事；在Post-reading环节，通过学生表演故事的方式激发学生对故

事学习的热情，为以后的故事学习打下良好基础。

Pre-reading 1. Greetings

2. Show the main ideas of three stories and

let the students read and guess the names

of the stories.

3. Lead in the snake with a riddle. And ask: a. What animal? b. What does the snake like to eat? 4. Lead in the story: The snake and the rat.

通过阅读，引出今天的故事主角之一。

通过提问让孩子们展开想象，从而引出故事的主角之二。

While-reading

1. Lead the students to listen to the whole

的顺序。

精读第一段，通过听、仿说和表演的方式进行学习和运用。

精读故事，将三、四、五段列为今天教学的重点，围绕rat能做的三件事展开学习。通过默读填表格的方式理解故事；通过让学生模仿故事的语音语调来体验故事的趣味性，从而帮助学生真正走入故事，为接下来的表演做铺垫。让孩子通过最后一段的学习解决心中的疑问：Can the rat swim?再次整体感知故事，通过学生为故事加标题的任务来检查学生对故事的理解程度。

Post-reading

1. Let the students read the story freely.

2. Encourage the students to act out the story 3. Extension reading. Assign-ment 1. Read the whole story. 2. Act out the story after class.
