The analysis of the teaching material and the students: The topic of this unit is “Welcome to Sunshine Town”. In this“Integrated Skills”period, we will learn something about the Palace Museum . The students will listen to the guide’s introduction to the Palace Museum, and try to do some different tasks.

The seventh grade students are not good at listening for some target information .And they are not familiar with shorthand skills. So at the beginning, I will teach students some skills about how to write down the information they need quickly and correctly. Especially focus on the Key words in the sentences.

Teaching procedures: Step 1:Lead in

Introduce the places of interesting in Beijing with some pictures. 2.

Introduce the places of interesting in Yangzhou with some pictures. 3. Learn something about the Palace Museum. Look at the poster in A1 and answer the question: What can the exchange students see in the shows? 1. Listen the tape and fill in the table in A2. (If necessary, play the tape for a second time. ) 2. Listen the tape again, then finish the exercise in A4. Complete the e-mail from Neil to his mother. Step2 Presentation 1.Present the topic in Speak up. 2.Listen to the dialogue and answer the questions. 3. Read the dialogue after the tape. 4. Practice the dialogue in pairs, then act it out. Make up a dialogue. 1. Recite the dialogue in Part B.
