Step 1 Revision Ask students to read the words that we have learnt in the last period, correct pronunciation mistakes if any. Step 2 Presentation

( Grammar focus ) 1.

Invite a student to help me to make a conversation to lead students into the subject of this class. 2.

Ask students to find the answers to the following questions: How many questions are in the conversation? What are they? 3.

Show these general questions on the blackboard, and ask students to find the differences among them. As they work, move around the room, checking progress and offering help as needed. 4.

Invite several students to show their results to the class.

Then check and summarize how to use “do” and “does”.

Step 3 Practice 1.

Activity 3a Ask students to do it individually, then invite a student to write down the answers on the blackboard. Then check the answers. 2.

Activity 3b

First , ask students to read through the conversations silently so that they can know what they are talking about. Then ask the students to complete them with “do” and “does” individually.

Finally check their answers. Answers:

Does; doesn’t; Does; does

Do; do

Ask students to read the complete conversations together. Explain some language points. (1)

句中的let为使役动词，后接省略了to的动词不定式做宾语补足语，如：

Let me

tell you how to use it. (2)

That sounds good.

That指代上文中提出的建议，即整个句子，它做主语时，谓语动词用单数。

句中的sound为连系动词，译为“听起来”，另外还有其他关于感官上的动词：

Look, taste, smell等，这些动词后都可接名词和形容词，表情况或状态, 如：
