Step 1 Warming up--Song “I’m a little teacher”

Listen to a song “I’m a little teacher.”

Free talk

T: What does he do?

Ss: He’s a teacher.

T: What does your parents do?

S: My father is... My mother is...

T: Do you want to be a... in the future?

S: No.

T: What do you want to be in the future?

S: I want to be a writer.

T: What do you want to do?

S: I want to write stories for children.

T: That’s great. I hope your dream will come true.

Ss talk about their dreams and learn the new words: dancer, pianist, astronaut Step 2 Presentation 1. Watch the cartoon.

T: Today let’s talk about our dreams. First of all, let’s welcome our old friends. They are talking about their dreams. What do they want to be in the future?

Ss: (Watch the cartoon and underline the main words.)

T: (PPT) What do the kids want to be in the future?

Ss: Mike wants to be a dentist.

Wang Bing wants to be an astronaut.

Liu Tao wants to be a football player.

Su Hai wants to be a dancer.

Nancy wants to be a writer.

Yang Ling wants to be a pianist. (Learn the new words: astronaut, fly a spaceship, football player, play in the World Cup, pianist)

T: All the children have their own dreams. The boys are talking about their dreams. What do they want to do in the future?(Why do they have these dreams?)

Then fill the forms on the screen.

Talk about the boys’ dreams with the given sentences: I want to be... in the future. I want to... 3.
