Step 1 Lead-in 1. Play “ABC” song for students T:It’s an “ABC” song. I think you’re familiar with it. Now I want to know how well you can remember these 26 letters. Step 2 Presentation Try to understand your dictionary 1. Choose the right dictionary.

(2) Find the words in the dictionary and write down the page numbers. 3.Discuss:Which word comes first? Which one comes next? Why? 4. T:Look at the words on the blackboard. Because ”a” comes before “b” in alphabetical order, all the words beginning with ”a” comes before the words beginning with ”b” in a dictionary. The words in a dictionary are in alphabetical order, from A to Z.
