Now, I’d like to divide you into two groups: Group A and Group B. Group A: Cloning is a good thing. Group B: Cloning is a bad thing.

Process of a debate: 1. There is a chairperson to charge the debate.

2. The first speaker/debater of team A speaks first and then the first speaker/debater of team B speaks. 3. Then other people take turns to give a free discussion. 4. Team A: choose four students: the first/second/ third/ forth speaker. Team B: choose four students: the first/second/ third/ forth speaker. T: Quite good. Now, I’m the chairperson. Is cloning a good thing or a bad thing? --- A Heat Debate on It With the development of cloning, more and more people are paying attention to it. At the same time, we are thinking about whether cloning is good for us or not. Today, the students in No.2 middle school held a debate about it. After the fierce debate, team A won the debate. On the one hand, team A is in favor of the idea that cloning is good for humans. Firstly, by using cloning, gardeners can produce new plant species and rise the quantities of plants. Secondly, cloning would become a good way to cure disease in the future in the hope of applying cloning.

What’s more, this is a good chance for the disabled to live a normal life again. Thirdly, cloning can save many kinds of endangered animals and plants such as pandas. Last but not the least, women who is unable to be pregnant will be able to become mothers.

On the other hand, team B holds the opinion that cloning will do harm to human beings. Above all, it’s

hard to imagine what will happen if bad people were cloned. This may cause a disaster to the world. As far as I am concerned, whether cloning is good or bad depends on how we use it. Only if we make a good use of it, it will be beneficial to us. After all, we still have a long way to go.
