教材分析

本课为《Join in》六年级上册 Unit5 Animals in danger. 这个主题单元中的一部分。此课为第二课时内容。在前一课时中，学生通过听、读及猜谜语的方式学习了用It is…,

It has got…,

It eats…,

It lives…等核心句型来描述有关动物的一些基本信息。本节课的教学内容包含part 2 and 3。Part 2是关于濒危动物翠鸟The Kingfisher的一个语篇,由8个句子组成。前三句是有关The Kingfisher的basic information。很好的承接了上一课时的内容。第四句Kingfishers are in danger.是一个总起句，直切本单元主题Animals in danger，后面四个句子以There is no…/

There are no…的核心句式分述了Kingfishers are in danger.的原因--No food /No quiet place。而下一课时的内容正是以此语篇的主要信息为知识背景而发生的一个孩子们帮助The Kingfisher的故事。Part 3要求学生了解另外三个濒危动物濒临灭亡的原因snow leopard, black rhino, orangutan，其中black rhino已经灭绝，在本单元Part6有一个介绍black rhino的语篇，在Revision 2，Part 10中有关于snow leopard的介绍。

学情分析

授课对象为武昌实验寄宿小学六年级学生，他们通过三年的英语学习，已经具备了一定的听力及口语表达能力，有一定的词汇积累。

教学目标

1. 能听懂理解本课主要内容。

2. 初步体会按意群划分句子来朗读的技巧。

3. 扫清字词障碍，正确流利地朗读课文。

4. 学会用There be句型表达动物濒临灭绝的原因并进行拓展。

5. 感受濒危动物濒临灭绝的悲惨现状，唤起学生保护濒危动物的意识。

教具和学具

教师准备图片或视频，ppt演示文稿，学生活动资料。

Teaching procedure: Step1: warm-up and lead in 1.

Say hello to the students. 2.

How are you today?

Step2: Presentation 1. Show students a video about animals. Lead in the topic: Animals in danger 2. Show students the comments.

3. Talk about one animal.

Students try to say the word “kingfisher” . Teach students “kingfisher”.

②Make students guess “What is a kingfisher?”

③Listen to the passage and check the answer. 4.①Students look at their task paper, listen and choose, get basic information. ②Feedback. Check the answers. At the same time, write down the sentence structures “They’re… .” “They eat… .” “They live in … .” on the blackboard.

③Retell the basic information according to the sentence structures on the blackboard. 5.①Read and circle the new words. ②Teach the new words in different ways. 6. Listen and try to follow the tape to read the passage. Focus on the last sentence. ①teach students to draw diagonal lines.

④Retell the reasons why the kingfishers are in danger according to the sentences “There is/are… .”

8. ①Show students the other three animals in danger “snow leopard” “black rhino” “orangutan”, and teach them to read.

②Ask students the question: Why are they in danger?

Watch a short video and answer the question.

③Look at the task paper and choose “What can we do?”

Step 3: Conclusion Animals are our friends, we should save them.
