2. Teaching objectives By the end of this lesson,

(1) Students are able to master the pronunciation of short vowel “o”. (2) Students are able to know the story.

According to the story,

(3) Students are able to understand the story and know some animals in the story. (4) Arouse Ss’ enthusiasm in thinking while reading the story .

3. Teaching key points and difficulties (1) Enable to read, understand the story, and can gain the main information；

(2) To use o spelling the words and help them to reading by themselves.

4. Teaching preparation Multimedia and PPT, word cards

5. Teaching procedures Step 1: Warm-up and review

(1) Greetings. (2) Review: Listening the sound of letters.

【Purpose: 通过字母发音小视频进行课前的热身活动，同时复习相关的字母发音，为故事的展开做铺垫。】

Step 2: Presentation (1) Let’s find O’ sound. (2) To learn a story about the bird and the O.

【Purpose: 通过小故事创造情境，让孩子在情境中学习。】(3) Listening the text (first):

Step 3: Practice Pair work and help the bird back home.
