本单元的重难点在于掌握指示代词this, that的用法。不定冠词a, an的用法对学生也是一个挑战，应该在今后的学习中不断巩固，培养语感。另外，元音字母的发音也是教学的难点，教师可以补充更多的发音规律，通过分组呈现，引导学生发现规律。并进一步强化训练

学生学习字母I到R时，应指导学生注意字母的发音，占格以及书写规范。

在学习句型What’s this/that in English? It’s a/an…时注意不定冠词a/an的区别。

能够掌握英语字母I-R的发音，顺序和书写规范。

能够正确使用句型

使学生能够分清a, an的区别。

教学过程

Task 1 Warming up

Listen to the song: I can say my ABC / what’s this?

Aim: to interest the students. / Introduce the new words and pattern drills. Task 2 Revision

1.

Ask Ss what is the name of the song? Do you know the meaning of ABC? then say it means “门，基础知识”。

2.

Go over letters Aa~Hh in different orders by PPT, and get Ss to say loudly and quickly. Ask Ss say their own names out, and then point out the letters from Aa to Hh. For example: My name is Tina. I have an Aa. My name is Bob. I have two Bs.

Aim: Review the 26 letters. Task 3 Presentation 1.

Show some pictures of the new words or flash cards if possible. And teach the new words by asking: What’s this? It’s a/an…

What’s this in English? It’s a/an…

Then choose “orange” picture.

—What’s this in English?

—It’s an orange.

Be careful of the different between “a” and “an”.

Aim: Learn new words and prepare for the dialogue-learning. Task 4 Guessing Games 1.

Ask one student to come to the front, standing face to the other students. Put the pictures on his head one by one, and ask another student to stand up, give some suggestions so that Ss can guess the word about the picture.

Practice for a little while until most of the Ss can say:

-It’s a/an…

-Spell it, please.

-…

So, if the Ss can do this conversation well, that’s the end of 1c.

Aim: Practice the dialogue. Task 5 Listening 1.

1a. Talk about the picture: What is this in English? It’s a/an…

First, get Ss to listen to the tape. Play the tape again and ask the Ss to repeat the conversations. Look for the small letters in the picture for these letters. Check the ones you find. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H. 2.

1b. Let Ss listen and repeat. 3.

1c. Get Ss to practice the conversations in the picture with partners. 4.

Make their own conversations. Aim: Improve Ss’ ability of listening.

Task 6 Listening and practicing 1.

Show ppt, learn the letters from Ii to Rr. 2.

Listening to2a and repeat. 3.

Work on 2b, listen and number the letters. Task 7 Look and copy 1.

Teach the new letter as usual. 2.

Work on 2c. Look and copy.

Task 8. Write Work on 2d Write the missing big letter or small letter for each pair. Task 9. Discuss Work on 2e 1.

Show the pictures in 2e. 2.

Let Ss guess the meaning of these letters according to the picture. 3.

Explain the meaning of letters. 4.

Show more letters with special meaning. Task 10 Homework

Copy the new letters.

大部分学生已经能熟练说出26个英文字母大小写以及部分问候语。

学生的差异性:有极少数学困生需要重新巩固. 对于字母大小写的书写掌握不牢固。

语言知识与语言技能目标：

学习策略目标：教师要尽量用英语组织教学。充分利用课堂的40分钟，不讲或少讲汉语，尽量给学生创造英语情景。

情感态度及文化意识目标：培养学生综合运用这些知识的能力。并让学生能在“做中学”，通过有限的课堂实践活动，提高自身能力。利用制作多媒体课件来进行知识的教授。

Task 1 Warming up 1.

Greeting the class and show some pictures. T: What’s this in English?

Ss: It’s a/an…

2.

Check homework. Ask two students to show their pictures, and make a conversation about each. 3.

Revise the letters. Task 2 Presentation 1.

Show some letter pictures or flash cards, and teach Ss to read first. The way can be like this: (show a picture) -What’s this?

-It’s “…”.

Teach the new words: ruler, map, jacket, key, quilt, orange, pen, cup. 2.

Finish teaching all the other letters in this unit in the same way. 3.

Write the letters on the Bb. Surely the four lines should be drawn. Ask the Ss to pay more attention to the writing of “I, l; O, Q; p,

q; I, j” etc.

Task 3 Listen and practice 1.

Listen to 3a. Be careful of difference of the sounds. Listen twice if possible.

Listen twice and repeat. 2)

Listen the third time and number the pictures. 2.

Listen to 3b, and ask the Ss to complete the words under the pictures in 3a. 3.

Listen to 3c, and ask the Ss to repeat the conversation and then make their own conversation.

A short game: Listen and draw lines to form a picture of “key”.

Task 4 Work on 3d &3e 1.

Work on 3d. Listen to the conversations and number the words you hear. 2.

Show ppt to explain the difference and usage of “this” and “that”. 3.

Read the conversation in 3e. 4.

Ss work in pairs and practice the conversation in 3e. 5.

Make a report to the class. Task 5 Practice 1.

Use some pictures or things similar to the letters and practice recognizing them. The practicing way may be like this:

-What’s this in English?

-It’s…

-What letter is it? -It’s a small/capital letter of “…”.

Use some letter cards, and put them side by side to teach abbreviation words like P.E. kg. NBA, and some more if possible- IQ, CBA, FIFA, NATO, IBM, etc. Task 6 Fill in the missing letters.

Work on 4a. 2.

Ask the Ss to fill in the missing small or big letters. At the same time, ask the Ss to pay attention to the writing ways.

Then work 4b. Task 7 Listen and repeat 1.

Listen to the tape of 4c. 2.

Lead the Ss to notice the four letters: A, E, I, O, and explain the pronunciation of these four letters. 3.

Listen again and repeat. Task 8 Read the letters and words.

Work on 4d. Read the letters and words in column 1. 2.

Read the new words in column 2. 3.

Ask Ss to pay attention to the sounds of vowels. Task 9 Summary

Check the Ss and see if they can write all the 18 letters in order.

Listen to 4c again, and ask the Ss to pay attention to the rules of the chart. Task 10 Homework 1.

Find letters “Ii~Rr” on daily life.
