Teaching Plan Teaching aims:

At the end of the class, students will be able to: 1.

understand the meaning of new words, eg: decide, reach; 2.

describe events clearly; 3.

write about what they think will happen to Alice next.

Teaching procedures: Beginning Step 1 Review 1.

Blank-filling questions about the beginning part of the story: Who, when, where, what happened; 2.

Question: Did Alice go through the door? Objectives: 1. to help students describe the basic elements of the story;

2. To assess the learnt knowledge in Reading part;

3. To lead into the teaching material.

Development Step 2 Read and answer

Two questions: Did Alice go through the door? How many notes are there? What are they? Objectives:

1.To arouse Ss’ interest;

2.To make students have a general idea of the continuing story.

3.To make preparations for step 4

Step 3 Blank-filling

Blanking-filling questions about the development details of the continuing story. 2.

Word explanation Objectives: 1. To assess Ss’ comprehension of the story;

2. To make preparations for the next step.

3. To help Ss’ understand the meaning of new words.

Step 4: Filling the table 1.

Filling the left pat of the table—“EAT ME” on the basis of the content in step 3; 2.

Question: What about continuing story? Objectives: 1.To help Ss analyze and classify the events; 2.To provide clues of imagination for the ending of the story.

Step 5: Content support 1.

Filling in the right part of the table; 2.

Ask students to share ideas with each other; 3.

Showing T’s ideas.

Objectives: To provide Ss some necessary content support in an organized way.

Step 6: Language support 1.

Showing some words and phrases according to lexical class. 2.

Asking Ss to find out the linking words and showing them some more. Objectives: To provide Ss some necessary language support in a scientific way.

Step 6: Structure Showing the structure to Ss. Objectives: To help Ss write a logical and well-organized ending.

Step 7: Writing Asking Ss to write a logical and well-organized ending with their imagination. Objectives: 1.To assess the previously taught knowledge in this class; 2.To provide Ss a chance to write with scaffolds.

Step 7: Assessment 1.

Asking Ss to evaluate the writing with each other according to the standards and modification symbols. 2.

Sharing one or two good writings; 3.

Self-correction. Objectives: 1. To help Ss learn from each other; 2.To make Ss know the characteristics of a good writing.

The form of this lesson plan is not suitable to cover all the elements, e.g. form of activities, time, students’ and teachers’ activities，teachers' discourse can not be clearly shown; ②

It’s difficult to find the right verbs when writing objectives;

The lesson plan is not flexible enough for students of different levels. ④
