Module 5 Unit 2 They were young. 一、Teaching Aims: 1、Knowledge Aims:

Words: were, young, old, short, clean, dirty

Sentences: They were young. 2、Ability Aims: 运用was/were 谈论过去的事情和情况，对于过去和现在的不同之处。

3、Emotion Aims：在学习和日常交际中，初步注意到中英文在谈论过去的事情和情况时的异同；在小组活动中能与其他同学积极配合和合作。

PPT CD-ROM Blackboard 三、Teaching Procedure: （一）Warming-up 1、Greetings 2、Review Unit 1:

T: Let’s play a game! Do as I say, not as I do. I’m short/thin/young. It’s big. （二）Lead-in 1、出示教师外祖父母小时候以及现在的对比照片，导入课题“They were young.”教师板书题目并让学生朗读。

T: Today in my class, if you do a good job, you can get 1 point. Now

let’s start our class. 2、T：Look, what’s this?

Ss: It’s a butterfly.

T: Yes, do you want to know what was it like then? Now let’s have a look.

播放SBunit2 活动一的动画，整体感知。

Ss：It wasn’t beautiful then. 教师范读，让学生模仿录音语音语调朗读，并板书。个别学生朗读。

T：What about the butterfly’s whole life? Let’s watch a video.

蝴蝶的一生经历四个阶段：卵、幼虫、蛹、成虫。幼虫形态多样，多为肉虫，少数为毛虫。成虫一般色彩鲜艳，翅膀和身体有斑点和花纹。（一张图片介绍）

T: This is the whole life of butterfly. If you want to know more, you can surf the Internet after class. Ok, open your books at page 29. Now, let’s read the text together.

（三）Task Presentation:

Last class, we’ve introduced the characteristic in the past. Now in this class, we should also introduce the present characteristic to show our change.(通过对比过去和现在的特征描述，以展示我们的变化。）First, let’s look at the differences in the text.

（四）Text learning:

1、Now let’s watch a video and then answer my questions: Are they changeable(变化的)?

Yes or No 2、T: listen to the CD-Rom again, this time you should circle wasn’t and weren’t, so take out your pen and open your books at page 29. Start. T: Who can read the sentences for us.

Clean dirty (创设情境，让学生进行描述）

Eg. Our classroom should be clean. 3、Now this time let’s repeat the sentences.

4、Now read the texts and try to retell the texts. （五）Practice：

1、活动三：Read and circle.让学生朗读句子。

T: Let’s have a practice! 2、活动四：Listen and chant.

T：Let’s relax ourselves! What’s this? It’s a little chick. It’s a big red hen.

What are they like? Let’s have a look. 先听一遍，第二遍跟读，第三遍配动作chant。

3、活动五：教师将课前收集好的学生小时候的照片整理好，通过ppt编号，让学生选择号码，对号码后面的学生进行小时候和现在的描述，以展示学生的变化。

T: Let’s play a game. Choose one number and try to describe the picture. Now for example: This is … She is … She wasn’t …then. She was…. T: ok, who wants to have a try.
