1. To help the students know about the community.
2. To help the students improve their reading skills by using different methods.
3.To enable the students to know how to be a good neighbour.
【Teaching procedures】
Step1. Lead-in Step 2. Pre-reading My neighbours 1. Enjoy a video. 2. Learn some new words: engineer, check, broken, fix, college, volunteer, skill, problem 3. What do you think of my neighbours? Task1 Pair work Step 3. While-reading Simon’s neighbours Task1 Listen and answer Task2 Read and finish Task3 Read and judge Task4 Role-play
Act it out Divide the students into groups to make dialogues. Step4 Post-reading Task1 Enjoy a video and have a discussion: How to be a good neighbour Task2 Challenge Step5 Conclusion
Step6 Homework 1. Read the conversation aloud.
