I wonder if it’s because I haven’t been able to be outdoors for so long that I’ve grown so crazy about everything to do with nature. I can well remember that there was a time when a deep blue sky, the song of the birds, moonlight and flowers could never have kept me spellbound. That’s changed since I came here.
2.
As the moon gave far too much light, I didn’t dare open a window ... I didn’t go downstairs until the window had to be shut. The dark, rainy evening, the wind, the thundering clouds held me entirely in their power ; it was the first time in a year and a half that I‘d seen the night face to face….
3.
...Sadly... I am only able to look at nature through dirty curtains hanging before very dusty windows. It’s no pleasure looking through these any longerbecause nature is one thing really must be experienced.

There is another diary of Anne. Read it and circle the words to show how she felt in this diary.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23,1944 My dearest Kitty, The weather has been wonderful since yesterday. My diary, the best thing I have, is coming along well. "As long as this exists," I thought, "this sunshine and this cloudless(无云的)sky, and as long as I can enjoy it, how can I be sad?"
The best way to comfort those people who are frightened, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere they can be alone, alone with the sky, nature and God. As long as this exists, and that should be forever, I know that there will be a place for every soul(灵魂). I firmly(坚定地)believe that nature can bring comfort to all who suffer. Oh, who knows, perhaps I can share this feeling of happiness with someone who feels the same as I do. Yours, Anne
