一、教材的地位及作用

本课是科普版小学四五下册第五课的第一部分,学习询问职业及工作地点的句型,教学内容与四年级上册第七课关于职业的选择疑问句相联系,易于学生理解和运用。通过询问职业及工作地点的学习,使学生了解社会职业,提高学生口语表达能力,促进师生情感交流。

二、学情分析

本节课的教学对象是小学五年级的学生。在知识掌握上,他们已有一定的听、说、读、写能力。在教学中教师抓住学生的这些特点,通过运用直观生动的教学方法,激发学生学习兴趣的同时,尽量多创造让学生“说”的机会,充分发挥学生的主体地位;要对学生好的表现给予及时的评价且知识具有梯度,使学生获得成就感,增强自信心。

三、教学目标及教学重难点

1.知识目标:a.在掌握以前所学职业词的基础上,使学生熟练掌握本课的四

个职业词和相应的工作地点。

b.掌握如何询问职业和工作地点的句型,并灵活运用不同的单

词替换句子。

I work in a factory. 2.能力目标:使学生能够灵活运用此句型来询问父母或同伴将来的职业和工

作地点,并能联系之前所学句型进行日常对话,从而提高英语口语的交流能力。

3.情感目标:教育学生懂得“有志者,事竟成”的坚毅品格,并引导学生在

将来的职业生涯中做到干一行爱一行,在工作中发扬助人为乐的好品质。

4.重点:本课时职业和地点词的匹配和认读,以及某些字母在单词中的不同

发音。

5.难点:如何询问对方的职业以及工作地点。

四、教学过程

Step 1. Greetings.

Good morning, boys and girls. Nice to meet you. Step 2. Lead-in. A.

Free talk: May I use your book?

Where do you come from?

Where do you live?

How many pupils are there in Class two? B.

Watch a video “Jobs song”, and answer”What are they?”

C.

Show pictures and ask “Is she/he a ~ or a ~?”

Read the title after the teacher. Step 3. Presentation. A.

Show pictures and words on PPT.

The teacher put the words cards on the blackboard.

Read words by pick one, touch and say, one by one.

Emphasize the sound of factory, hospital, post office...

Present the sentences. a.

The teacher takes out a helmet and ask “Who am I?”

The students answer “worker”. Then the teacher invites a boy to come here and ask him to put the helmet on. The teacher ask all the students “Who is he?”

They answer “He is worker.”

T: What do you do?

S: I am a worker.

Then the teacher make another two pupils ask him “What do you do?”

The teacher writes down the sentence on the blackboard and ask all the students to follow.

T: What do I do?

Ss: You are a teacher.

Read after the teacher.

The teacher invites a girl to put on a stethoscope(听诊器), pick two students to ask “What do you do?”

S1: What do you do?

S: I am a doctor.

Read after the teacher.

The teacher takes a letter and invites a pupil to be a postman, then pick another two pupils to ask “What do you do?”

S2: What do you do?

S: I am a postman.

Read after the teacher.

b. The teacher invites a pupil to be a worker.

T: Where do you work?

S: I work in a factory.

The teacher writes down the sentence on the blackboard and ask students to follow. Then the teacher ask students to ask and answer use the other words.

Step 4. Practise.(boys VS girls)

Design intention: practise words by profession with covered pictures. b.

Design intention: Practise working places by sounds or dynamic pictures.

Look and read.(as quickly as they can.)

Design intention: make students read and remember all the words by the

flashing pictures. B.

Sentences

Ask and answer “What do you do?” (add farmer, driver, cook, nurse.)

Ask and answer “Where do you work?” (add on a farm, in the street.)

The teacher and four pupils to take an example. boys: S ~ A ~B ~ C ~ D. girls: S ~ A ~B ~ C ~ D.

Design intention: make students ask and answer by changing different words in a interesting style. c.

Make friends (eg: worker and factory are good friends)

The teacher takes down the words cards from the blackboard, and gives these cards to pupils. Then eight pupils come to the front and make friends, two pupils are good friends. At the moment, the other pupils ask them one by one. Ss: What do you do? S1: I am a .... Ss: Where do you work? S2: I work in a .... Design intention: make all students to ask and answer for fun by making friends. Step 5. Consolidation. (boys VS girls)

Group work: The teacher and three pupils make a dialogue as an example. Now, It's your turn to make a new dialogue. Two minutes for you and in groups of four. OK, one two go! Two minutes later, the teacher invites four groups to show their dialogue in order.

Design intention: make student communicate with others by more

sentences and improve their spoken English.

Step 6. Homework.

A. Talk about your future jobs and parents’
