Step I. Warming up 1.

Greetings. T: Hello, boys and girls. How are you? Ss: Fine, thank you. T: Let’s review the phrases we have learnt. Can you read? Ss: Yes, I can. Ss:…… T: Great. Now let’s play a game. 2.

Let’s say a chant together.(What are they doing?) Xiao Hui is doing homework, Li Ming is having breakfast.……

Step II. Presentation 1.

T: The teacher cleans the window and asks: What am I doing? I am cleaning the window. 2.

Then teach the new phrase: clean the window. To practice the phrase in different ways. Then join the sentence: I’m cleaning the window. Ask the Ss to read the sentence one by one. 3.

Learn the others phrases in the same method. Teacher sweeps the floor in the classroom and say:“I’m sweeping the floor”three times.Then ask Ss do the action and understand the sentence.At last I play two videos that one mother is doing the dishes and the other is washing clothes .Let them1understand the phrases profoundly. 4.

Practice the sentence by asking and answering.

One student does the action casually. The teacher asks: What are you doing? Then he/she answers: I’m …… 5. Creating the situations to learn the dialogue:“Jimmy wants to play with others, But they can’t play with him. What are they doing?”Then listen to the tape recorder and answer the questions. Q1: What’s Jimmy’s father doing? Q2: What’s Jimmy’s mother doing? Take out some cards. Ask one student to come here and choose one card. Then say the sentence quickly. Step III.. Consolidation 1.

Play a game:“Look and guess”. 2.

Have a race. 3.

Ask the students to read and act the dialogue in roles in groups. 4.

Practice the chant over times. 5.
