Analysis

（1）Learning Analysis

This unit aims the environmental problem -- global warming as the topic (NSEC BOOK 6,

Unit 4), describing in details what global warming is and how it comes into being. Through some exercises students can express their own opinions on global warming.

1. To use the words and phrases correctly in speaking and writing.

2. To review the causes of global warming and the consequences it

brings through different exercises

3. To express their ideas of what students can do to help reduce

global warming .

1. How to stimulate the students’ enthusiasm to express their ideas.

3. How to improve students’ team work skills.

Methods

The students have the following characteristics:

1. Students are in Senior Grade 2.

2. Students have known something about the causes of global warming and the consequence it brings as common sense.

3. Students are interested in the contests .

4. Students are curious about PPT showing.

So during this lesson, the following learning methods will be used:

As we all know, the best way to learn English is to imitate, to listen, to speak, to read and

to use as much as possible. That is to say, “Practice makes perfect.”

Methods

This class is the student centered teaching. The teacher is a director, while the students are actors. And I will try my best to limit TTT, that is. Limit Teacher Talking Time and increase STT (Students Talking Time). So during this lesson, the following methods will be used: 1. Video lead-in method：Teacher attracts students’ interest by showing a video so that students will be interested in the topic; 2. Discussion method：Through discussion, students can share their different opinions and learn how to cooperate with each other.

Reflection

Advantages：

1. The lesson is divided into five parts, which will help students learn the words, phrases and sentences step by step. This arrangement helps the students keep up an optimistic attitude in class. 2. Students are interested in the contests, so everyone plays an active part in it. 3. Students can use the words and phrases that they have learned in the group discussion to express their point of view.

Disadvantages：

Some students think it quite difficult to express their ideas freely, so they may feel nervous and make some mistakes while doing exercises.
