Lead-in The teacher starts the lesson with a short video about the Olympics as well as a series of pictures taken in the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. Step 2

Reading strategy Show the definition of a speech and ways to make a good speech. Step 3

Detailed reading Ask students to retell the reading with the help of the given words. What fine qualities do you think these athletes have in common?
